00:00Hello and welcome to another edition of Look Around London.
00:03Downing Street is one of the most famous addresses in the world and the heart of British politics.
00:08Located in central London, it's home to the UK's Prime Minister and the Chancellor of
00:13the Exchequer.
00:14The most iconic building, Number 10 Downing Street, has been the official residence of
00:19the Prime Minister since 1735.
00:22Behind its famous black door, key government decisions are made from economic policy to
00:27foreign affairs.
00:28Just next door, Number 11, houses the Chancellor, the government's top finance official.
00:35The street itself was built in the 1680s by Sir George Downing, who served under both Oliver
00:41Cromwell and King Charles II.
00:44Today, access is heavily guarded, but it remains a powerful symbol of leadership, representing
00:51where the British government, quite literally, runs the country.
00:54Here we go.
