00:34It probably is that kind of thing where you will see in it

00:38what you're experiencing, whether it's good or bad.

00:51It's interesting because recently I had a conversation about

00:54my wife thinks I have a crush on my dental hygienist.

00:56Mm-hmm.

00:57Got brought up once randomly.

00:58Oh, wow.

00:59Never got mentioned again.

01:01And then...

01:02We're watching the show.

01:03Shit.

01:04Lo and behold, someone has a fling.

01:05Starts dating a dental hygienist.

01:06And of course, that immediately turns into an argument.

01:09But it's interesting how much any relationship in any stage

01:13is very much represented in the show.

01:15And it does lead an interesting question, which is where is your loyalty lie?

01:18Longtime friends or longtime romantic partner?

01:22Right.

01:23Wow.

01:24Yeah, that's a tough question.

01:25I mean, I think that's a little bit of what kind of goes on with our characters.

01:31It's like, you know, I'm running off to go hang out with Danny, my longtime best friend.

01:35And you call it out.

01:36You're like, you would literally rather hang out with anyone else but me.

01:39And I think in the moment, in that moment in the series, that's true.

01:42And that's kind of like something that my character has to own up to.

01:45Because I think, boy, you're married a long time.

01:47Like, you can get caught in that behavior.

01:49I've been married 13 years.

01:51So I have friends now that are divorced, friends that are still single, friends that are the process.

01:55Mm-hmm.

01:56And I think another thing that doesn't really get addressed a lot, which you do such a great job of in the show,

02:00is that when one of your groups of friends is going through something in a relationship, it does affect the whole group.

02:07And it can affect that long time hang that goes where you go on vacations together.

02:12Mm-hmm.

02:13In your personal lives, when you have friends that come to you for advice in relationships,

02:18do you try to get them to make it work just so that you can keep the friendship group together?

02:22Yeah, that's such an interesting thing.

02:24I haven't had to go through that too often, but I always, like, am shy to give advice.

02:30Because, like, if you're not inside it with them, you know, it's too hard to know.

02:35You don't want to push someone to stay or to leave.

02:37Because, like, you don't really.

02:38Have you?

02:39I would give the advice that would potentially upend the group.

02:44Like, you just should be happy as a person.

02:47Like, if staying with that person is what's going to make you happiest as a person, then that's, then do it.

02:54But, like, if it's not, then, yeah, they just need the truth.

02:59But I don't, like, make decisions. I just pose questions.

03:02Yeah.

03:03Smart.

03:04But I do think, like, you know, the friend group will survive all this.

03:08If it's a friend group worth having, it'll survive something like that.

03:12As it pertains to friends going on vacations together, who is the most annoying type of friend to have on a vacation?

03:18The friend that overplans every second you have?

03:21That's me.

03:22You?

03:23I mean, I don't know.

03:24Not on a friend trip.

03:25On a family trip, yes.

03:27I mean, for me, it's the person who's, like, always late.

03:31That's, that's, that's, I'm like, you know, if we said we're going at 10, let's go at 10.

03:36But that's because I still have, like, a comedy tour, like, Second City tour van mentality.

03:41I'm a 10.05 person.

03:43Mm-hmm.

03:44Okay.

03:45Not, like, crazy late, but it's always five months for some reason.

03:48Tina could have cast anyone as her love interest in this show.

03:50And she picked you over the Cloonies, the Brad Pitt's of the world.

03:54What do you think it is about you that she said, this is the guy I want to be my romantic partner in the four seasons?

03:59I don't know.

04:00I don't know.

04:01And I am pinching myself.

04:04It was a very exciting call to have because I, you know, I've known her for years and years.

04:09But, you know, she is one of the best there is of all time.

04:18And just to know that she wanted to trust me with this role to play her husband was a real honor.

04:28Yeah.

04:29I think I'm very lucky.

04:30I'm blessed to have a lovely real husband in real life and to have such a kind and smart and funny fake husband.

04:40What is a bigger kiss of death in a relationship?

04:43Renewing the vow ceremony or matching tattoos?

04:46I think the vow ceremony is, it's always a red flag city.

04:53I will just for the sake of counterpoint, I'll say matching tattoos.
