Jesse Rutherford and Zach Abels of The Neighbourhood tell us about their new album, '(((((ultraSOUND)))))'
Transcript
00:00Hey, this is Jesse and Zach from The Neighborhood, and our album Ultrasound is out now.
00:04We recorded Ultrasound in Van Nuys, California, at a spot called Beehive.
00:11It's a wonderful, mainly rehearsed studio.
00:15Yeah, not a real studio.
00:16Yeah.
00:16Rehearsal is possible.
00:18Don't need one of those. This is perfect.
00:20I hope that they take away that they like the record.
00:24Yeah.
00:25I hope they take away.
00:26I hope that they like it.
00:27Well, I just hope they take away some sort of a feeling, because I know if I watch like a movie or something, you know, I just want to feel something.
00:35So even if it's like making me feel awful, it's like, I don't think we're gonna make you feel awful, but I think it's heavy.
00:41Even if they hate it. Yeah, probably still hate it.
00:43Just like hate it for real.
00:44Yeah.
00:45The best place to listen to Hula Girl would be in a car, preferably by the beak.
00:50Yes.
00:50Windows down.
00:51With our neighborhood Hula Girl that we'll have soon available in our merch store.
00:55Dancing on your Dashboard.
00:57The weirdest place.
00:59I don't know, like Target.
01:00That's what I was going to say, too.
01:02You know, that's not that weird.
01:03It's not weird.
01:04It's more so just like, it's so background.
01:07Because like, think about any time you've ever been to Target, you're not really thinking about the tunes that you're hearing in there.
01:12And it's pretty co-worker vibe, probably, most of it.
01:14So also, you're not even thinking about it.
01:16And then all of a sudden, you're like, you're walking and you're like, oh, there it is.
01:21Yeah.
01:21Oh, okay.
01:22That's not the song.
01:23Yeah.
01:24Yeah.
01:24Brandon showed us that reggae remix version recently.
01:27I have.
01:28That was it.
01:28That was, yeah, that's kind of fire.
01:29It's just, that song's so crazy because it's just made itself a part of, you know, our, I guess, culture.
01:37You know what I mean?
01:38That I think almost any interaction with it is interesting for us because it's always like, well, there it is again.
