What were your thoughts on the Bill Belichick interview?

00:00Imagine you're Robert Kraft, and instead of spending all this time and energy on the Bill Berry series known as Dynasty,

00:10and instead of hiding behind mutual decision, after the Patriots went 4-13, you fired Bill Belichick, you made the stand,

00:17you said, I know this is difficult, he's the greatest coach we'll ever have, one of the best coaches in all of sports,

00:22but it's time to move on. And then everything else happens. So no Dynasty docuseries,

00:27no awkward press conference where the audience knows you're not being truthful,

00:31you just say you're fired, and then everything else goes as it is,

00:36the backlash is almost non-existent at this point for Robert Kraft.

00:41The fan base would say, okay, clearly, you know, things were off with him, must have been a weird ending,

00:46thank you for what you did, but there wouldn't be the, you know, like the anger that is existent among Patriots fans

00:53for Robert Kraft would not be there in any way like it is now, had he just done those two things.

01:00You're assuming, I think, that those who are cringed out by Bill and the relationship that he's in

01:09are somehow going to have a bias against Bill and his coaching ability.

01:15No, that he never got another NFL job, and that clearly he was done coaching,

01:20so you made the right decision at that point. It wouldn't mean that he was a bad coach or anything that he did was bad,

01:26it would just mean that Robert Kraft made the right decision at the right time to say goodbye.

01:29The only thing that hurts Bill is if he goes to UNC and he's not productive down there.

01:35If he goes down there and he's not able to turn the program around,

01:38and he's not able to make them a legitimate competitor,

01:41that's the only thing that I think hurts Bill.

01:45And when you start to look at, like, some of the things that people will say,

01:50it won't, like, necessarily, like, destroy his legacy on anything.

01:54How long do you think he coaches for? Another five years?

01:57Yeah, I would say three.

01:59He's 73, right?

02:00Yeah, I would say.

02:01So when you say turn the program around,

02:03like, what does he have to accomplish so that it doesn't tarnish his legacy?

02:08Bill Belichick, five more years?

02:10You think it's only three?

02:11I would be shocked if he's there for year two.

02:19Like, why would he do all of this to just be there for a season?

02:22Unless you think that UNC will part ways with him after a year.

02:25Why work so hard to get a buyout to come down after year one?

02:28Maybe he's thinking an NFL job will open up after year one.

02:32But he doesn't have roots in North Carolina.

02:34He wants to have the ability to leave as soon as possible.

02:36See, Jordan is definitely, and you've encountered a million of them in your playing career, and I have in my radio career.

02:45She is definitely the type of wag, as Courtney would call them, who says,

03:29But she was COO of Belichick Productions.

03:34She was a student.

03:35Right, so, of course, then she uprooted her life for a great opportunity job-wise.

03:41Now she's the COO of, you know, Belichick, whatever.

03:45Yeah, so.

03:46Curtis, one of the judges at last year's Miss Maine competition had an issue with the competition.
