Let's get started with the NCAA. Of course, lots of discussion on moving forward with betting and
00:05
props and just sort of how to combat some different issues, I would say, in college sports
00:10
in general. And now the NCAA is going to share data with some betting operators. And I know the
00:15
partnership doesn't really surround it necessarily, but I think in the long term, it's important to
00:21
make sure that everybody knows what's going on in the league with betting data and this
00:24
sort of league will partner up. Yeah, definitely. This news about the NCAA expanding their
00:31
partnership with Genius Sports dropped on Friday. And what it does is they've already had a
00:35
partnership with this sports data company that shares a lot of data with sports books. But
00:41
now they're going to share their official data. This is everything that happens on the field with
00:46
the players. It even includes injury tracking. So it's all anytime you talk about the deep analytics
00:51
and all the tracking that scouts and teams do. It's all this official data that now the sports
00:56
books will have access to as well, as well as the NCAA's logos and their marks. So anybody who's
01:02
partnered with Genius Sports, which many sports books are, will have access to all of that now
01:07
because Genius Sports is the exclusive distributor of NCAA data. And it's going to happen through
01:13
2032. So that'll cover all postseason championships, men's and women's March Madness. It actually won't
01:20
include the college football playoff because, you know, of course, in the NCAA, there's the different
01:25
entities and the NCAA actually doesn't own or operate the college football playoff. It's separate.
01:30
And, you know, the leagues and the conferences might change even more by next year. And we're
01:34
talking about this again. But it's part of these broader measures to just ensure responsibility and
01:40
integrity across everything. You know, we've talked about a bunch of scandals popping up across
01:45
college sports. We've talked about harassment. So what the sports books are going to have to do is
01:50
they're going to have to share things like geolocation and device data if needed with the NCAA, which they
01:57
already have been doing. But it's kind of been a basis of when it's being asked upon, when there's
02:02
an investigation, then they'll share it. But now this is going to make sure that the NCAA has access to
02:08
it at all times. You would think that's going to kind of speed up these investigations that we've been
02:12
talking about and just make it easier to kind of track some of this, you know, some of the stuff
02:17
that's been going on that they'd like to stop. You know, it also comes as the NCAA has been really
02:22
trying to promote anti-harassment. They've been trying to get states to ban player props, which,
02:29
as we know, can be more easily manipulated than a lot of other bets. So the NCAA has been very vocal
02:35
on that front as well. And it comes to genius is trying to expand their portfolio. They just
02:40
unrolled genius IQ, which is this new AI driven platform, which is going to do more deeper
02:47
integrations, more real time stats tracking, they'll share that with the broadcast. So I'm sure you'll
02:52
hear about that kind of all throughout sports coverage as it changes, not just with sports
02:56
betting in general, could allow the sports books to add some more features down the road, you know,
03:01
tied to things beyond just stats, you know, whether or not how fast an athlete is moving during a game,
03:06
you know, all of that is kind of down the road, but it kind of opens the floodgates to that thing
03:11
eventually. So yeah, it's a big, it's a big move for the NCAA here sharing the data for the first
03:16
time. And we'll definitely hear more about it, you know, as we get into the serious sports in the fall.
