00:00So in terms of sports betting, our story today is on Wisconsin.
00:03It seems like from what I'm reading here, Sam, there could be sports headed their way.
00:09The tricky part here is it does involve the tribal entities, which I'm familiar with here in Florida as well.
00:14Maybe it's something similar.
00:17Yeah, Wisconsin is a very similar market to Florida, Craig.
00:20It's in in-person sports betting is legal with the tribe.
00:25So in Florida, they got to the point where they were able to keep sports betting and expand it by
00:29having online servers for online sports betting on tribal land.
00:34It's kind of the workaround a lot of states have done.
00:36That's what Wisconsin is proposing here as well.
00:38The state assembly actually passed the bill this week, which would allow 11 state tribes to create servers on their
00:46land that host online sports betting, partnering with apps, essentially allowing up to 11 sports betting apps to come in
00:53the state.
00:53The session actually ends March 19th, though.
00:56So they're running out of time quickly to pass the bill.
00:58It's already passed the assembly.
00:59It needs to be heard in the Senate.
01:01It does have the support of Governor Tony Evers, who's backing it.
01:05And the tribes seem to be on board as well, as obviously it would give them most of the power.
01:09But there's still some Republicans in Congress that are a little wary of commercial operators not being included.
01:15Obviously, the Fan Duels, DraftKings, BetMGMs of the world have a lot of lobbying influence with the states.
01:21And, you know, prediction markets have really changed the game in terms of them not getting a cut of sports
01:27betting that's happening legally on those lands.
01:30So I imagine that'll probably be a factor here as well.
01:33But Wisconsin, one of the few states this year where we could see betting go from in-person to expanding
01:38online.
01:39We'll have to see.
