00:00Read, ready and responsible. The People's National Movement says it has the tools to lead the nation to security and prosperity.
00:10Communications Minister Simon Dinaubriga tells us the geopolitical environment that exists now requires a level of maturity in leadership that he believes the PNM has demonstrated.
00:23He says it is doubtful if the UNC will be able to navigate that well.
00:27If I can put on my party cap, we can say that by their conduct in opposition and in government, the other side simply has not shown they're capable of doing that.
00:45Dinaubriga says the population is right to desire change. And according to the minister, the government is making those major changes already.
00:54I don't know if people understand exactly how groundbreaking that is to have a prime minister in government say it is my time to step back now and to allow a new generation to take the reins and move with a new energy, with a younger vision, with a more direct connection to those younger generations.
01:23Minister in the Ministry of Digital Transformation and Public Administration, Hassel Barkas says, the government has a national digital transformation strategy 2024 to 2027.
01:36The online payments and renewal system for driver's licenses. One of the reasons why it wasn't launched until the Monday is that we had an additional set of security checks going into it to make sure that even though we had all the clearances from TTC, CERT, etc, etc, to make sure that everything that we had there was in the best and most reliable position that we could be for launch.
01:57Yeah, well I'm glad you said that because some people are saying that was launched for the election, eh?
02:01It can't be. We've been building it for nine months.
