00:00Hello and welcome to Manchester World. My name is Theo Houston Betts and today I'm out in Manchester asking people about heating.
00:04And that's because, well, the weather in Manchester is very, very changeable.
00:08We had some lovely sun last week and today it is pouring it down.
00:11I have not worn appropriate clothing, if I'm being completely honest.
00:14So we want to know, is there a certain temperature people wait for or do they wait for a certain time of the year before they turn on the heating?
00:20Yeah, big jump for most of the year.
00:22It's only like, you know, once it gets proper, proper chilly, like Baltic, you know, November, December, that's when you stick it on.
00:28But like, you know, for now, I just, if I get a chill on, I'll set a big fleece on.
00:32Prior to my flat that I have now, no.
00:35But the flat that we have in Leeds now is very cold.
00:37So my heating is always on.
00:39So there's never a point where I turn it on, it's just, it's just always on now.
00:42I don't trip it on until it's literally, until it's like snow outside.
00:47I'm the classic dad, you know, when the thermometer goes.
00:50Yeah.
00:50And I'll say to the messer straight away, what have you done?
00:53I look at the smart meter and I go, hang on a minute, lads.
00:55Let's have a word with ourselves.
00:56There's a jumper there.
00:57Yeah, but it's true.
