Peep Show: Will Chuck Find Rock Hunting Love?

Dave & Chuck the Freak talk about a man in Northern Michigan that was rescued after becoming stuck in the sand on the beach while rock hunting. No one was expecting the love story that unfolded during the news report.

00:26to be like this big man and end up on the news when you sink into sand and have to be rescued i don't

00:31want to sink into sand he looks from the screen capture he looks like a merman oh no because

00:40he was like waist deep in the sand this is how quicksand kills you i just watched a video on it

00:46well he's like the chef of the mermaids or something

00:48he eats well he's always but doesn't he look like a merman because he's only seeing from the

00:57waist up in the water oh my god is he stuck he's stuck that's where he got stuck so he had to do

01:04a news interview about it here this happened in um where did it happen leland township michigan

01:11and he's uh he's uh he's got a friend she i don't believe they've ever done anything romantic

01:19together oh okay they're just rock friends yeah i got a couple rock you got a couple of lady rock

01:24friends not really here's the story of what happened to this poor big guy from up north live take a

01:30listen this is not anything that in recent history we can remember responding to here leland township

01:37firefighters are prepared to handle just about any call that comes in for help still some are a little

01:42unexpected our first arriving truck responded from the leland station and arrived on scene in about two

01:46and a half minutes found a patient stuck up to their waist in very deep loose sand mitchell o'brien was

01:53that patient out for a rock hunting adventure here at vans beach walking through a couple of inches of water

01:59when he hit an extremely soft spot in the sand it was very quick i had time to turn around and get

02:06my cell phone out of my pocket that was pretty much it he was there with at the time his friend

02:12friend friend i thought we needed help instantly um but he wanted to he was very good at reassuring

02:21that he would get out of there and that he was okay but after 15 minutes mitchell wasn't any more

02:26interesting huh there's no chance you're getting laid i'll tell you that right now

02:30and brie was getting a lot more concerned i hope i never get to me those moments

02:35you're with a woman and you get stuck you find a lady to go rock hunting with you and then you get

02:45stuck waist deep in the sand and we have to call 911 to get you rescued and she's like we've got to call

02:51someone i'm like no no don't call someone don't make this a big story don't want to call someone

02:56right away she yes of course because there's a big fat guy he's stuck he's sinking if i'm sinking i

03:03understand the panic she's not pulling me out yeah no lady i would go rock hunting with is gonna be

03:10able to pick me up she knew right away oh he's never gonna get out of there well instead of like

03:17king trident's trident or whatever he's got like barbecue like a barbecue

03:20he does skewers oh chuck it i hope this doesn't happen oh listen i'm not kidding last night i watched

03:33a video on how to get out of quicksand like this really why would you watch that strange it popped

03:39up on my feed it was like a guy he was like all right i'm stuck in quicksand and it was like in

03:45some australia placed in australia or something and he showed that you lay down on your back

03:51and then you slowly start almost like trying to kick your pump your knees pump your knees

03:58you don't look cool this guy was in incredible shape or whatever like i'm just dead like i just

04:03i would just lay on your back and pump your knees he showed he showed that it's possible to escape but

04:09in the story they said most of the time people don't die from quicksand they die from the tide

04:16coming in right oh yeah so like you get stuck like that and it's halfway horrible and then the tide

04:21comes up and you're done because you couldn't escape back to this big guy story oh it was to me those

04:29moments were terrifying honestly just to see somebody you care about in a situation and i couldn't get to

04:34him in a safe manner for the pair of long time friends they knew this wasn't a situation they

04:41could get out of without a lot of help i was finally like i'm not getting myself out of here

04:46i'm gonna call 9-1-1 now he did and so did brie they described this situation and that's where

04:55this friendship officially became a love story

04:58i need uh to talk some sexy lady into rock hunting and then i also got to find out where

05:15there's some awesome quicksand almost die yes and that will bring you close together i almost lost

05:23you in the quicksand while we were rock hunting i guess you didn't realize how much you liked me

05:27until i was stuck oh no the tide oh the tide's coming in i'm probably dead

05:34should we do it i can't believe it worked out for her i know i can't either i love let's hear more

05:42i was on the phone with uh the 9-1-1 operator she was trying to call as well we were both calling

05:47because we're having some phone issues and i referred to her as my girlfriend that's trying

05:53to call as well at the exact same time she got through to another operator and said my boyfriend

05:59is stuck in the sand yep that's when they first used those what a beautiful terms and told central

06:06dispatch before they actually told each other i'm officially utter shock but still stuck until

06:13the first leland firefighter arrived on the scene three guys i believe in front of mitch oh no one

06:18guy and then you've got to be pulled out like a beached whale they strap that around you it's not

06:25the best oh do they have him they're gonna hook him up to a jeep winch i think so

06:30i think man they're gonna hook him up to a fire truck and pull him out this is a reason enough

06:36for me to put a winch on my jeep right now so i can just do it myself i'd be like listen what you

06:41gotta have your lady do it yes it's way better than this your lady's gotta winch you out it's way

06:47better than a cool guy in a real jeep comes up with a winch and pulls me out of there in front of

06:52my lady around back of him and just started scooping sand as quickly as possible and you

06:58can see him starting to go down a bit as well and it was literally just all of the guys in action

07:05in seconds and a couple good yanks and he got out of there we always appreciate knowing that we were

07:13able to make a difference that day cold wet but uninjured and with a bit of advice of the lesson

07:19learned just be careful go out there enjoy it look for your pretty blue stones like i did but

07:24pretty blue stones and a lot of appreciation for how a soft spot in the sand and a couple of 911

07:31calls exposed a soft spot in each other's hearts holy two years of this guy being my best friend

07:38and just trying to hide everything how i felt and then he tried to die on me and becomes my

07:45boyfriend in the middle of it oh god i'm dying over here firefighters will always anyone calling

07:50anyone calling in what a great team i'm dying right now is anyone calling no no one's calling

07:55yet who would have seen that happen i love that it was like in the middle of the whole thing she's

08:00like my boyfriend and is you know in trouble and he's like did she say boyfriend did she say

08:05boyfriend yeah well i think he screwed up and said it first oh he did i think that's what he said but

08:10still because that's how i wanted it to unfold too that she's like my boyfriend is dying and then

08:16he's like i mean i'm telling you i'd escape at that moment he's about to have sex

08:31listen he dug that hole he dug that hole he was there the day before he dug the hole he's smart

08:52oh what a tail good for him it is not how i thought it would have no but that's great how

09:00nice quicksand's legit yeah they'll be married in that spot oh be careful not too close no no a

09:07little further away stay on the beach stay on the beach yeah yeah man i've never don't do this by

09:12yourself chuck if you ever get into it i mean most of the time i am um you have to take a lady with you

09:19gotta get yourself a lady one of them rock sticks that they have these these two oh see yeah and

09:26he's gonna get into this listen every time i'm on a beach i'm hunting rocks just the way it is one

09:32man got laid doing it so this is okay i will say this if you guys knew that i had a girl that i'm like

09:40i don't know we're just friends but well oh yeah you're friends what do you guys do oh like every

09:46weekend we walk beaches and find rocks together you're like okay okay why don't you guys just

09:53yeah like why don't you just that's your lover yeah cut the crap a lot of people say with me pull out

09:58a sand like that your pants would come right up oh yeah did that happen she's gonna get to see what

10:04she's dealing with huh oh god i'd fight everything you've been in the frigid frigid water and sand for

10:10i i would have said to the rescue guys i would have been like listen i know you're hooking me up to

10:15the winch right now can you get me one of those straps that you tie tie down a uh like a load in

10:23the back of a pickup truck with we're gonna time these shorts down i don't care tighter tighter

10:31like the suction noise or when they lift them out of there it's gonna be crazy massive oh massive

10:37oh oh my she took a picture it's kind of like the photo of dave stuck in the desk oh yeah you know

10:43because it does look like a merman with his trident i know yeah he's on the phone right now completely

10:49helpless and stuck and she took a picture of it to remember the moment that's it yeah it is love

10:55though it is holy cow totally love
