00:00Literally, that's like the city is just, I don't know, it's just great.
00:05We're having a pickle festival this week.
00:06Yes!
00:08Are you kidding me?
00:10That's something that Philly would make fun of.
00:13That's how you know it's changing.
00:14Now it's becoming like that type of city.
00:17He's offering me a pickle off camera.
00:19My son and I made these gherkins ourselves.
00:21You want to try one?
00:22All right.
00:22They're sweet.
00:23They're sweet.
00:24They're teeny.
00:25Yeah, they are.
00:25Oh, this one's curved.
00:28What do they call it?
00:30He's so happy to hear that you...
00:31I just grabbed it without the fork.
00:33That's fine.
00:34By the way...
00:35Homemade.
00:35That's a damn good pickle.
00:36Damn!
00:37What?
00:39And we are happy to welcome one of our favorite guests.
00:42Any time comes back to town, we've got to have him here.
00:45He's going to be at Punchline tonight and tomorrow night, 7.30 and 9.45, respectively.
00:49Ladies and gentlemen, Jamie Kennedy is here.
00:53Yo.
00:54What's up, dude?
00:55Yeah, you guys are so nice to me.
00:57We try to be.
00:58You're a very nice guy.
00:59Something's going on in the city, though.
01:01Yeah?
01:02How so?
01:03Well, in the last 15 years, the city has been changing.
01:06It's getting much more...
01:08You know, there's so much happening here between Comcast and sports and food.
01:13The city is evolving.
01:15And the Super Bowl win has given...
01:18It's like something has lifted.
01:19You know, there's this tension.
01:21I got off the plane yesterday.
01:23Not one.
01:24But two people told me, hey, have a nice day.
01:28What?
01:29Am I?
01:30No one's kicked me yet?
01:32Nobody's like, hey, buddy.
01:33Yeah.
01:33I was like, I thought I was in Phoenix.
01:36What the hell?
01:38We were walking from the link to, like, the subway, like, where the park, where the cars are.
01:43Not one fight.
01:45It was incredible.
01:46Yeah.
01:46It's pretty wild.
01:47Santa Claus was, like, thinking of coming back.
01:51It's amazing.
01:52There is something about...
01:54And there was an article today where a guy's like, well, I don't know if we could be city
01:58winners because then we'll be like the Patriots and we've got to keep our edge.
02:02And I'm like, that is Philly in a nutshell.
02:05Something good happens.
02:06Well, I don't know how long it's going to land.
02:10Well, I want a lottery, but it's a lot of taxes.
02:13Exactly.
02:14Just enjoy it.
02:15It's always just below the surface.
02:17It's funny because there was a smattering of boos last night towards the end of the
02:21first half.
02:22Yes.
02:22And I heard people saying, no, no, don't boo.
02:27We just won the Super Bowl.
02:29Don't boo.
02:29So there were a lot of people who wanted to be that Philly.
02:32Boo!
02:33Yeah.
02:34And then other people were like, hey, guys, chill, chill.
02:37We're, you know, we're winners now.
02:38Maybe it speaks to Jamie's evolution.
02:40It didn't.
02:41But the whole thing about that, you're not the first person who brought that up.
02:44The boo happened like late, like almost at the end of the second quarter.
02:48I mean, that's like an eternity for Philly.
02:49Yeah.
02:50You know what I mean?
02:50It is.
02:51You see that as a major accomplishment.
02:54Oh, big time.
02:54Yeah.
02:55Yeah.
02:55This is, dude, I was walking around the street last night, 2.30.
02:59There was a little going to Wawa.
03:00It was nice.
03:01I mean, honest to God, there's a nice calmness in the city.
03:05And it's a lot of things happening, but I swear the Super Bowl did something.
03:08I think so.
03:08You're right.
03:08I was watching the game at home, and they aired this video that was narrated by Kevin Hart about the lead-up to the Super Bowl win.
03:17And the montage at the beginning of the video was years and decades of frustration, right?
03:22And so they showed all of the heartbreak over the years and people with angry faces.
03:26And then the Super Bowl win happened, and then there's nothing but happy faces.
03:30And then they're panning around the stadium last night, and people are smiling and high-fiving one another.
03:35And it was a pleasant environment.
03:37I know.
03:37People don't know what to do with themselves.
03:39But it's good.
03:41It's a nice, I'm telling you.
03:43When you come to town, and obviously you are from the area, is there a group of guys or friends that you're just like, hey, this is our thing.
03:52We've got to hang.
03:53Yeah.
03:53I mean, I have a couple friends here that I still stay a lot, but sometimes if I get busy, I can't.
03:58But, yeah, I mean, I go to the same haunts.
04:00Yeah, yeah.
04:01I like to hit up gym steaks, you know.
04:03I go.
04:03Now, I mean, Fishtown's got so many places, La Colombe Coffee.
04:07I mean, Fishtown to me is like a super, it's like New York City.
04:12Yeah.
04:12I mean, it's so hipster.
04:13It's so many great.
04:14But the whole city's got pockets of that.
04:17Yeah.
04:17North Philly is like, you couldn't go in there.
04:20I mean, you wouldn't have walked near there 20 years ago.
04:23Am I crazy?
04:23No, you're not.
04:24I mean, now I'm like walking down the street 2.30 in the morning.
04:26North Philly, like whistling.
04:28Like, where?
04:29Dude, Iron Man, this is true.
04:31It's the weirdest thing.
04:32I'm like, Jamie, I had to walk.
04:34Who wants to rob me?
04:35No, you're fine.
04:36I had to walk through FDR Park last night by myself because I left before the game had ended, right?
04:41You got one.
04:42All right.
04:42So FDR Park.
04:42You went by yourself, all right?
04:44And it was dark.
04:45All right.
04:45And I was fine.
04:47Wow.
04:47No one?
04:48Right?
04:48No one attempted to diddle you.
04:50No.
04:50Nothing.
04:51And there were like three deer in there.
04:54I was like, wait.
04:56Wildlife is coming back.
04:58Wow.
04:59Deer.
05:01Butterflies.
05:02It's like, I am legend.
05:04No, it really is like, honestly, I was telling somebody, I was like, I've been around a lot
05:08of places and I do consider this like a top 10, top 15 city in the world of like, it's
05:15cosmopolitan, great food.
05:17I was just in New Orleans.
05:18I love New Orleans, but I mean, it gets a little intense around 3 a.m.
05:23You know what I mean?
05:23And there's some voodoo, but Philly, it's got everything.
05:27Food, drink, it's really.
05:28And there's a lot of people in different walks of business, fashion, entertainment, law.
05:33It's on the radar and it used to be for the longest time that it was not the case.
05:37And we would always be bypassed and people, there's a couple of million people here who
05:41are going to go see your movies and go, you know, getting celebrities to come into
05:45town or, or, or, you know, to, to recognize the show or the local media here was, was
05:49an uphill battle.
05:50But now people realize that Philadelphia is a player.
05:53The city is just, I don't know.
05:55It's just great.
05:56I remember we're having a pickle festival.
05:58Yes.
06:00Are you kidding me?
06:01Oh, that's something that Philly would make fun of.
06:04That's how you know it's changing.
06:06Now it's becoming like that type of city.
06:08It's a pickle.
06:08Are you offering me, he's offering me a pickle off camera.
06:10My son and I made these gherkins ourselves.
06:12Oh.
06:13You want to try one?
06:13All right.
06:14I mean, they're sweet.
06:15They're sweet.
06:15They're teeny.
06:16Yeah, they are.
06:17Oh, this one's curved.
06:20What do they call that?
06:21My son would be so happy to hear that you.
06:22I just grabbed it without the fork.
06:24That's fine.
06:25I just put it in there.
06:25By the way.
06:26Homemade.
06:27That's a damn good pickle.
06:28Thank you very much.
06:29I appreciate that.
06:31Look at Philly's feeling it.
06:33Pickle, sweet pickles.
06:34Oh, yeah.
06:35Like the fact that you're having a pickle fest.
06:37That's something Philly would be like, hey, look at you.
06:39You having a dumb pickle fest?
06:41Look at you.
06:42Paul the pickle.
06:43Shut up.
06:45Now we're like, hey, try our pickle.
06:47It is the first one.
06:49Let's see if it lasts.
06:50Yeah, it may not last.
06:51Dude, that is a damn good.
06:52I'm going to have another one.
06:53Have all the, finish them, man.
06:55Wow.
06:55Sex being applied at the pickle festival.
06:57I know.
06:57The pickle got booed.
06:59The one and only pickle festival.
07:04No, it seems like every weekend there's some kind of event going on now.
07:08Philly's really opening up.
07:10And, you know, it's just a lot of fun.
07:11There's always something going on that you can go do.
07:13Yeah.
07:14And on the national stage, I was saying this the other day, there's a turn.
07:18You know, we're slowly not being the butt of every joke.
07:22Not every sports commentator hates our guts.
07:24No.
07:24Although, we're still not on the weather map.
07:27No, we're not on the freaking weather map.
07:28Because when they show the national weather map, it's New York and then D.C.
07:32And they skip right over Philly.
07:33Piss me off.
07:34Yeah, skip over a couple of days.
07:35It's so true.
07:36Yeah.
07:36But you know what's funny is that years ago, Colin Quinn, he told me, I'm trying to do
07:42the impression, but he's like, where are you from?
07:44And I was like, Philly.
07:45He's like, oh, you're from Philly.
07:47And he's like, oh, at least Baltimore knows it's an armpit.
07:52Philly thinks it's an actual city.
07:55And I was like, we do well.
07:57We have a pickle fest, Colin.
