00:00so are you guys in the studio right now right um oh yeah we are um we're we're uh writing a new

00:07album for hailstorm and uh i it's we're in this beautiful place man i mean it's uh it's it's been

00:14a journey coming up to it but we're just we're so happy to just get in the get in the sandbox and

00:21play and writing some in my opinion writing some of the best songs that we've ever written

00:26um everybody is on 10 everybody is excited um and uh and we're getting in the studio with uh with

00:34with an unexpected um producer this time we're getting in with uh dave cobb um who uh for who

00:42has kind of made his ilk in the um i want to say the chris stapleton the brandy carlisle area now

00:49he's done some things with uh with airborne and with grede van fleet and all that but i'm pretty

00:53sure we're the first like hard rock band that he's really worked with so it's it's but he's such

00:58a fan of ours and uh we're it's very it's very like we're all perpetually 13 years old in the

01:06studio everybody's just adhd like oh shiny things let's do that and so it's been so much fun to put

01:13all of this together and so we're looking forward to everybody hearing it but is this going to be

01:17bringing you back to like when you guys came out with your first record there's a there's a lot of

01:23that the the um there's a lot of that energy um going on uh whereas i'm really hearing uh as far

01:30as like with the music that we've been writing i'm hearing all of our personalities but not in a

01:36personality that that is like oh this is what people know us as this is just what we are so it's almost

01:42like um like with for the differences uh with back from the dead this was more um doubling down

01:49on the things that we are and with this album it's more like peeling back the onion peel back the

01:55legs there's a lot of different things that i think that i'm um i'm comfortable and brave enough

02:00to talk about in my songs uh we're very much living in the present moment um we're not trying to be

02:07anything that we're not um we're not uh trying to stay on trend we're just trying to be who we are

02:14in in the absolute um uh in our raw estate and and and it's uh it's it's wonderful to kind of be

02:23saddled up with someone who can really see that absolutely i mean because like the first record

02:27like uh i mean i guess we could just say like it had some teeth to it you know like yeah yeah you know

02:34so is this producer gonna like add some like thrills to that oh absolutely i i i think i think that um

02:41i think that there is no holds barred i feel like there's there's one there's two there's two things

02:46in the music business if if nothing else that have remained uh true uh number one there aren't

02:52actually any rules right um uh number two nobody actually knows what the hell they're doing

02:57regardless of what they're talking whether they think they do or they are saying they do they really

03:02don't and so so it it leaves us open to everything and and um and there's so much um uh there's so much

03:10space and so much um passion and so much love and with the four of us uh this this marks um 20 years

03:20now uh that we've been the same four members uh in the band uh you know since since we became this

03:27and and it's uh it's amazing how that trust and love and respect for each other really comes through

03:35um in the music you know for instance um uh just last night uh the three guys were right here in

03:41my basement and we're going over new songs and it just felt like we were in our parents basement and

03:47in york pennsylvania you know back in the day and um and that stuff we just really it's very important

03:54you know to us and and what keeps us together and and what uh reminds us of of of what we're in this

04:01for uh whether whether or not we know why you know it's like it's like there's always we're always

04:07trying to figure out the why like why do we do this are we crazy why is this even working out this is

04:13nuts and it's like we've kind of uh given up on the explanation it's more like this is what it is and

04:19we still love what we do and we still laugh at each other's fart jokes
