00:00I don't know, we told you about this wallaby, baby wallaby that went missing from the Detroit
00:12Zoo.
00:13They just assumed that a bird of prey swooped down and killed it, took it, right?
00:19Well, they had a hopeful moment the other day.
00:24They had asked people in the surrounding area when this first happened to keep their eyes
00:28peeled for the five-month-old animal, and one older broad Margaret thought she found it.
00:36I got it.
00:37It's here.
00:39She believed it was on the roof of her home.
00:41I don't know how, but it jumped the wallaby it's got, or it was dropped by a hawk.
00:51Here's what was on Margaret's roof.
00:53Well, hell, you don't see that every day, though, Dave.
00:58What in the world?
01:00It's a hairless squirrel, isn't it?
01:02Ding, ding, ding.
01:03Yes.
01:04It's a gray squirrel with no hair, but they believe it has mange.
01:10Oh, it's a mange squirrel.
01:12I've never seen anything like that.
01:13Yeah, it's a squirrel has fur on just its head, and the rest of its body looks like Dr. Evil's cat.
01:20Honestly, I think this is how, like, chupacabra and stuff like that, this is how those kind of legends spread.
01:27I can see that.
01:29But, like, I'm sorry.
01:31I saw this story come up over the weekend, and I'm not by any means an animal expert.
01:37Right, right.
01:38But when I saw that picture, I knew immediately that was not a baby kangaroo.
01:43No, no, no.
01:43I don't know.
01:44No.
01:45What is the matter with this person to think that maybe that's the baby wallaby?
01:49I don't know.
01:50But it is obvious that that is a six squirrel.
01:52Well, maybe you're an older lady with not good eyesight, and it's not adding up.
01:56You don't know what it is.
01:57And also, knowing the distance of how far this baby wallaby would have had to travel from the zoo to be on this woman's roof is insane.
02:07Yeah.
02:08The fact that the news came out.
02:10Yeah, yeah.
02:10The news were like, oh, we got a hot lead.
02:13This lady found the wallaby.
02:14The baby wallaby's on her roof.
02:16And then they show up, and it's a sick squirrel.
02:19Like, maybe ask the lady to text you a photo before you round up the whole crew and send out the whole crew out there to cover it.
02:26It is one-tenth the size, even of this five-month-old wallaby.
02:32I mean, the wallaby's way bigger.
02:34I understand.
02:35It's a bizarre sight.
02:37It would have had to travel 24 miles away to appear at this lady's house.
02:40That's a lot of hopping, you know?
02:42A hawk or whatever must have grabbed it and flew a hell of a long way.
02:46It flew 24 miles with it.
02:47It tried to eat it.
02:48It took all its hair.
02:49Yeah.
02:50It ate all its hair.
02:51Ooh, that's the hair.
02:53Hello?
02:54Margaret?
02:55Yeah.
02:55Hi, Margaret.
02:56This is the zoo.
02:57Oh, you're never going to believe this.
02:59What is it?
03:00I got your wallaby.
03:01It's on my rooftop.
03:02What?
03:03How is that possible?
03:05Some kind of.
03:05Whereabouts are you?
03:06How many miles away?
03:07About 30.
03:08Almost 30 miles.
03:10I don't know how old baby wallaby.
03:11No, that's true.
03:12A condor.
03:13It must have been a condor.
03:15You believe it was a condor.
03:15I saw a shadow in the air like a condor.
03:19Can you describe what the baby wallaby looks like to you?
03:22Yeah.
03:23Creepy.
03:24Uh, obviously it's gone through some stuff.
03:27I believe the bird ate all of its hair off of it.
03:30Oh my God.
03:31No.
03:32That's all it ate.
03:33No.
03:33All it wanted was its hair.
03:36No other wounds.
03:37It ate his fuzzy little wallaby tail hair.
03:41Uh, what I'll, I'll describe them.
03:44It looks like, uh, like he, all he has is like a little knit cap on and some gloves.
03:51That's it.
03:52Everything else eaten off by that condor.
03:54Oh my goodness.
03:55I've never heard of anything like it.
03:57So you believe this is our missing Joey.
04:00Hairy and condor.
04:00I looked it up.
04:02It's a joke.
04:03I've been the same.
04:04Joey.
04:05Joey.
04:06It doesn't listen.
04:07I'm not sure.
04:08It's not answering.
04:09I don't know why.
04:11Does it appear in distress?
04:12Yes.
04:13Yes.
04:13Of course.
04:14Okay.
04:14All right.
04:15It's tiny.
04:15The thing has lost a lot of weight.
04:17We will send our, uh, zoo team out there immediately.
04:20Yeah.
04:21Margaret, if you could just keep an eye on it for us.
04:22I got them right here.
04:24Maybe don't approach it though, because we'd be worried about it attacking you.
04:29Joey.
04:29It's making a weird noise.
04:31Is it?
04:33Oh, that's very upsetting.
04:35Generally not what a wallaby sounds like.
04:37I don't know what they sound like.
04:38No one does.
04:39I'm a local news TV, uh, producer here.
04:41I'm picking up some weird things on the, the police scanner.
04:44It appears that somebody's found the baby wallaby.
04:47We need to send a full crew out there.
04:48Well, they're just, they're just hoping for anything that isn't to the war in Ukraine.
04:54COVID.
04:54Yeah.
04:55You know what I mean?
04:55They're just hoping for anything else.
04:58Oh, wouldn't that have been though a great story if that wallaby was found alive?
05:02Oh, they know.
05:02They can't take a risk on missing it.
05:05Right?
05:05Like if you missed it, they'd be like, what?
05:08She's a squirrel.
05:09Still, I'd be like, hey, can we get a text photo?
05:11Yeah.
05:12Text us a photo of that wallaby.
05:13I think you could send them all of this and, and it could clearly be a squirrel.
05:17They would still, they'd still send everybody out because they're like, man, yeah, no, we'll
05:22just tease it.
05:22We'll be able to tease.
05:24Did they find the wallaby that'll hit everyone's heartstrings?
05:27Oh, they're probably like, oh, what?
05:28Channel nine's already there?
05:29Yeah.
05:29Oh, channel nine's there.
05:30We got to get a crew.
05:31We got to get some bitches.
05:31We got to get feet on the ground now.
05:33I got to say though, I don't want to see a mangy squirrel.
05:36No, no.
05:36It is not a good look.
05:38No, cause that's, uh, I'm telling you, like Chupacabra was like a mangy dog or mangy coyote.
05:46And they gave, you know, people down there were like, it had wings, it flew in the air,
05:53it came a jumping down from the skies.
05:56It's like, you know, I wouldn't want to see that thing.
06:00No, no, no, it's a nasty looking thing.
06:02No.
06:03No.
06:04No.
06:04No, no, no, it's a nasty looking thing.
