High winds, large hail and tornadoes are possible for millions in the central U.S. on Easter weekend. AccuWeather's Bernie Rayno breaks down what to expect.
00:00It's going to be a stormy holiday weekend, especially across the central part of the U.S.
00:05Now, we have a frontal boundary.
00:07This is what produced the severe weather on Friday and the locally heavy rain that is slipping south on Saturday.
00:13Along the length of that front, there will be spotty severe thunderstorms, mostly wind and hail, and also flash flooding.
00:21While there can be an isolated tornado or two Saturday, Saturday night, the tornado threat is relatively low.
00:27Now, the severe weather ramps up on Sunday.
00:31Our upper low that has been sitting in the western U.S. the last couple of days will come out into the Plains states.
00:38While it's not the strongest system that we've seen, I think it's strong enough that we're going to see a clustering of showers and thunderstorms Sunday into Sunday night.
00:48Wind, hail, and I do believe there's going to be at least a few, if not several, tornadoes on the ground.
00:54By the way, the combination of the rain Friday, Saturday, and Sunday across parts of the central U.S. will result in flash flooding.
