00:00hi in this video we are going to go over what list views are in Salesforce and
00:08how we can modify them and create new ones to help us better do our day-to-day
00:15tasks so first off whenever I click into a tab or an object in Salesforce be it
00:23leads accounts contacts or opportunities I'm initially brought to this list view
00:32that I see in front of me meaning that it's just a list of records that are
00:39within that object so in this case these are the list of leads and I can see more
00:46details about each of them or choose to click into one of into a specific lead if
00:52I want from here the first thing to notice in this is that currently on the
00:59top left you can see the criteria or the view that you are seeing right now I can
01:05only see my leads so leads that are created by me however if I click on the
01:11drop-down beside it it will reveal a list of other lists that I can see all open
01:17today's and so on so forth so I can toggle between these views if I want I can even
01:25pin this view by hitting the pin icon so that the next time I come into the leads
01:32Salesforce will automatically show me this list view as opposed to the initial view
01:38that I had so the first time you log in this list view might be empty so don't
01:45worry Salesforce is not broken it's just that the first time you log in Salesforce
01:50automatically pins the recently views list now you can imagine if you haven't
01:56logged in before or haven't created any records or viewed anything this list will
02:01be empty so as you start using the list and more broadly Salesforce you can see
02:08that this list view will be populated over time but initially if you do want to
02:13sort of switch to a different view you can always switch by pressing this drop down
02:18over here choosing a different list view and pinning it instead so that that's the
02:23view you are going to see every time you log in to Salesforce so with that out of the
02:29way let's jump into how you can create and modify list views so in this list view I can
02:37see that I have a few records created by me for a market I can see the company
02:43information the email of the contact and a few other details as well if I click on
02:49this funnel icon it will show me exactly the filters that have been used to
02:55generate this list view so we can create new list views and also modify filters on a
03:03list view in order to change and tweak the views so that it matches exactly what the
03:09information that we are trying to get out of it now most of these list views that we
03:15have created for you are not editable however you can click this gear icon over
03:22here and clone it in order to make changes to it so let's say first I want to say
03:31I want to only see my new leads referring to new as in the status of the lead that I see
03:41then I can say who I want to create this for so this is only for me so I'm going to keep
03:48it at that I don't want anyone else to see that and as soon as you create a new one you can see it
03:57appears in the drop down over here and also if I click on this funnel it shows it it's only filtering
04:05the list with my leads that is leads created by me only now if I only want to see my new leads meaning
04:14the status is new for example I can click on add filter the name of the field is lead status and I
04:22can get a deeper sense as to some other fields which might not be captured here by clicking into
04:28the lead and trying to filter on another field which is maybe not displayed here so from here I will
04:37choose lead status equals new click done save and now you can see I'm only seeing a list of leads
04:52leads which have the new status now let's say I want to add a different field to this list view that I
04:59don't see right now again I'll click on the gear icon select fields to display and maybe add in the
05:10advertising channels as well you can see now it's here and if I want to further change the order of the
05:19fields I'll go back to select fields to display maybe put advertiser channels right under email save
05:29and it's been moved around so this is how list views work again it's the same uh same way of doing it and
05:38modern in terms of modifying it using it for accounts contacts opportunities uh whenever you go and click into
05:45these tabs this is sort of the same view that you get you use it in the same way so thank you so much hope
