00:00hi in this video we are going to go over dashboard components and how reports are linked to each
00:10dashboard component that make up your dashboard we're also going to learn how to filter reports
00:17in order to make it more relevant for you and quickly visualize information that you need to
00:23see right then and there in real time so let's get started right now I'm logged in as an AE and I'm
00:31within the dashboards tab as you can see from the highlight up top within the dashboards tab I'm
00:40within a particular dashboard that you see here the AE dashboard which is brand based and scrolling
00:48down you see all of my dashboard components each of which helped to make up my dashboard so before
00:57going further let's just give you an idea of how dashboards work and how each component is linked
01:03to a report basically each dashboard component is underpinned by a particular report the report
01:11gathers information from different places and it's basically a data representation a collection
01:18of different parts of data that are that make up that particular report however this particular
01:27dashboard component like any other dashboard component is powered by a report and it's just a
01:34visual representation of that report so for example every dashboard component has an underlying report
01:43and a dashboard component is basically a visual representation of that report so as I scroll down
01:53through the components within my dashboard you'll notice that there's a blue link at the bottom of each
02:01dashboard component which says view report this is true for all components and basically this is
02:09where you have to click in order to access the report which underpins each component that you see on your
02:16dashboard so for this example I'm just going to get a deeper look at this component in the report
02:22that makes up this soon as I click into the view reports link I'm brought to the screen and instantly you
02:30can see I have a lot more information regarding that same view that I was seeing in my dashboard notice
02:37the few toggles at the bottom of the screen which you can use so if I turn off the detail rose toggle
02:43I'll see a more condensed and summarized information however if I toggle it on I'm gonna get a more detailed
02:52look at exactly those same numbers if you click on the filter funnel on the top right I'll be brought to
03:01a list of preset filters that we have defined now keep in mind that when you do create a report of your
03:09own you can always filter by any of the fields that you see however if you are using a preset report
03:16that's been created by us the filters have already been defined so you can choose to modify these
03:21existing filters but cannot add new filters to it also another thing to keep in mind is that don't
03:30be afraid to play around with the filters because this does not permanently alter the report it's only for
03:38this time so if you click into the same report after filtering or adjusting any of the filters it will go
03:45back to the default filters that you see and as the report was before you changed it so for this
03:51example I'm just going to use one of these available filters let's just say instead of like a full year
03:57view I just want to see a view for this month click apply and you'll notice instantly everything's been
04:07adjusted and you get a better look at your data for but for this particular month I can also if it's a
04:14date use a calendar date if that makes it easy for me to like select a date range however I can also
04:22just use relative day and say next 60 days for example click apply and instantly my report and view
04:33is updated so hope you found that helpful thank you
