Dave's Visa at 13

After reading an e-mail, Dave is the only one on the show who has experience with the listeners situation, and that's when we learn about the credit card he had during his wild summer in Ireland.

00:00one more email to get to uh this guy said uh hey guys i'm a longtime listener from boston wouldn't

00:09be able to get through every morning if it wasn't for you guys i have a problem though and it's a

00:12big one i knew to come to you guys with it as soon as it became a thing so here we go

00:16i work for a government job for a wealthy town pretty much just to make ends meet while i commute

00:21to a local college i don't have long-term plans with this job because to make good money here

00:26you got to be at the top of the totem pole which is nearly impossible but here's where things get

00:30interesting a very nice middle-aged woman who was pretty much at the very top of our branch

00:35and makes boatloads of money wants to bang me oh wow i know this because it started off with her

00:41flirting a little bit here and there then it turned into her going out of her way to talk to

00:45me about random stuff then her asking me to go out for drinks but mentioned to me to keep it on the

00:52down low so no one finds out a couple of issues she is in her late 40s early 50s i'm 21 i also have

01:01a girlfriend who i'm devoted to and wouldn't want to hurt what do you guys think i should do i'm not

01:07big into women who are older than me but this could be a fun thing should i go out with her for one night

01:13in the hopes that if all goes well maybe i'll get a promotion slash raise should i do it for fun

01:19because i know i won't be around much longer be a good story when i'm older i'm stuck on where i

01:24should take this and i need your advice yeah i mean it is it is something you know it's a it's a

01:30thing especially if like you know my one of my friends was really into cougars like that was his

01:39thing and so for him it was like something he he can't he couldn't pass it up i'm probably the guy

01:46in the room that has banged someone with the biggest age difference well yeah because you

01:50were 13 yeah yeah yeah right because you were sexually okay i know but i wouldn't that's why

01:58i wouldn't recommend it because it i would take it back if i could yeah yeah you know i mean at the

02:04time i was like sweet i'm having sex right but you have to look at it like double it up so like

02:10whatever age you are you have to double it up so if you were 25 they'd be 50 right yeah if you were

02:1730 they'd be 60 sure like it gets i was 13 she was 26 it gets wacky yeah you know and the realization

02:24of that only came on this show because like for years i just normal i well i didn't think it was

02:29normal i just didn't think it was as crazy like had sex with an older woman the first time in ireland

02:33whatever yeah then as i we talked through it through the years almost like therapy sessions i was like

02:38jesus yeah she took advantage of my wee body yeah yeah it's too young that's yeah you were 13

02:45i was playing with transformers i remember i didn't know and i was in here with you guys and

02:53it just came up and i was like what yeah you were 13 david oh my we david had a wild summer in ireland

03:04yeah my parents know when they were sending me there for the summer that maxed out six credit

03:08cards and bang their old lady so did i could think a massive credit card dad he did he had a while

03:14that was wild that's the wildest dave's ever been gave me a visa yeah yeah and i the the it didn't at

03:23that time right it didn't it took forever for visa here yep to realize that i was charging there

03:30by the time they caught up here i was way over my limit they had given me because you at some point

03:37was you were just like well listen i know i'm i know i'm probably maxed out they'll tell me when i'm

03:45when i'm at my limit that was your belief system that was your belief just stop working when i was at

03:51my limit and they just were like you know what let's just keep extending him

03:55it might have been i don't know it's a better yeah my parents helped me get it but i had a bank

04:16account there i didn't think you could like by law get a well technically it was under my name

04:21or if it was under my it's probably under their name it was my dad's the same name as me right

04:25oh yeah i think it was probably you're a badass little 13 year old man he destroyed the most badass

04:30i've ever been at 14 i'm no longer a virgin and i'm not necessarily in debt the best part is to

04:36the credit card is probably what got him laid he's probably using the credit card at the bar no doubt

04:40and the older woman was like oh man this guy's got it together he's got a credit card with a huge

04:43limit i'm gonna bang this guy yeah it's what i bought the trench coat with which made me look

04:47older yeah which got me into the bar which got me to meet that woman it was all it all goes back to

04:52the credit card yeah don't get your kids a credit card your parents are great people but yeah they

04:57just were like here go ahead go they had no reason not to trust me then right and i didn't do i mean

05:04besides screwing his 26 year old i didn't do anything crazy that summer right yeah right a massive

05:09credit card debt and screwed a 26 year old yeah outside of that nothing crazy i just had my irish

05:14cousins are to blame they shouldn't have let that happen to me they were supposed to be watching over

05:19you absolutely yeah and my cousins were in their early some of my cousins were in their early 20s

05:23they were supposed to be like oh we did it you can't go with her yeah they were like wait on we

05:28yeah oh we go you never know what'll happen come by later and get you and they did and that was all

05:35done by then that's a story you never see on a visa commercial no no my god no visa it's everywhere

05:43you want to be it got me laid at 13 one trench coat

05:59oh yeah no that is not the commercial oh that's a wild summer dave you gotta make a movie man

06:06nah i don't think outside of that it was pretty boring i just had a couple of crazy nights the rest

06:11of it was just hanging out with my irish cousin doing nothing helping my uncle open up his irish

06:15restaurant every morning the debt but okay i will say this it changed your whole life honestly

06:21it turned you into me responsible down responsible financial dave yeah that's yeah because i realized

06:28oh you can't do that yeah well plus your dad is gonna kill you you had to pay that stuff off

06:32how a 13 year old andy would handle massive credit card debt same way 20 year old andy
