00:00In Cape Coral, Florida, an Instacart driver crashed into a parked car and just kept on

00:13driving away. Here's that story from NBC2. Stephen's disabled. He uses Instacart as his

00:21only way to get groceries. I normally get deliveries on a weekly basis. The Instacart

00:27app said this guy, Miguel, would deliver his order. Well, instead of Miguel, it's this woman

00:32that shows up at the door. His ring doorbell capturing it all. Minutes later, she's seen

00:37backing into the neighbor's car and speeding away. We're looking at approximately $4,000 if you want

00:42to do it right. Yes, you know, we sustained some property damage. Insecurity for the community

00:52as a whole. Wow. I'm not sure what's happening. This is a YouTube video. It's bigger than just

00:58that. You never know who shows up to your. The Internet is. It's just you thinking. What

01:06do I got to do to protect myself? Customers. I use it all the time. It never does. It's

01:16just a YouTube video. The company says they also conduct background checks. They're looking

01:22at shoppers' criminal history, their state and county records, and even their driving

01:26history. And if shoppers let someone else use their account, Instacart says their account

01:31will be deactivated. In this case, Miguel's account was deactivated. Brodacchi hoping Instacart

01:37is beefing up its measures against shoppers using other accounts. Folks are basically passing,

01:42you know, the app around like it's nothing. Today, Stephen ordered his groceries like normal,

01:47but before he opened the door, he checked his cameras to see if who was outside matched

01:51his app. I'm trusting this person and this company. We're in Cape Coral this evening, Gage

01:57Golding, NBC2. They're by the day. Yeah, so this is just what people do now. Like, can you

02:04imagine this girl? She probably had her Instacart account banned because she's rammed into other

02:10things. Countless cars. And so they were like, ban her, and then now she uses her friend

02:14Miguel's. Yeah, so but then they can't find her, right? Who's responsible? Is Miguel responsible

02:19then? Well, Miguel. I guess legally no, because legally he wasn't, take the Instacart out of

02:23it. He wasn't driving the car that hit someone. No, no. The cops could never do anything to

02:27him for that car crash. But the cops could shake him down to try and find out who the girl

02:31is that he gave his password to. Where is Instacart's Miguel? Car. He gave the password

02:39to her, right? Unless Miguel is completely fake. Right. Miguel might be made up. Miguel

02:43could be completely. But he said that Miguel always delivered his groceries. Oh. So Miguel

02:50was busy and he had somebody else help him out or something. Said he knows. Pictured a

02:57couple of cops beating the crap out of Miguel for the two. Who is it? Who is it? Who hit

03:03this car? Who backed into that car, Miguel? You tell us. Can't you tell you're going to

03:09die today, Miguel? Is this how you really want to go, Miguel? You're the one that gave your

03:13password to somebody, Miguel. Why would you do that, Miguel? What were you thinking? Instacart's

03:20Miguel. $4,000 worth of damage, Miguel. That funny to you? That was a 1988 Oldsmobile. And

03:29it got two side panel damages. It looks like it's going to cost $4,000. You think it's a

03:34joke, Miguel? You think it's a joke? Easy, easy, easy. Listen, I can only hold this guy back

03:40for so long, Miguel. Instacart, huh? Yeah. You better start singing. You better tell us,

03:47Miguel. $4,000, Miguel! Listen, I'm your friend, Miguel. This guy over here is not your friend.

04:27Miguel don't know Stacey nothing. She's a terrible driver, it turns out. She delivers her food

04:33okay, but she drives us very bad. You did the right thing, Miguel. Oh, you're lucky, Miguel.

04:50was killed by Instacart people. It's touchy for him.
