00:15What is it about the training center that makes it so valuable?
00:18Training center is valuable because we actually have a training center
00:21where some of our competitors don't have anything at all.
00:27Our members go through a four to five year training.
00:29The teachers down there are very dedicated.
00:32Our competition, our non-union competitors do not have a training facility
00:36and that's where we stand out.
00:38Why would business owners want to work with labor from Smart Sheet Metal Local 292?
00:43Well, we have highly skilled membership.
00:45They're taught extensively in training.
00:47Hands down, we turn out the best products in the industry.
00:51What do workers need to do to get into the union?
00:54Contact our union hall and then from there they take them to the training facility.
01:00We evaluate their skills.
01:03We evaluate their welding skills especially.
01:07And then when jobs become available, we put them to work with one of our contractors.
