Customers give their verdict on new Edinburgh pub The Angel

Customers have been giving their opinions on the recently opened The Angel, at the former Foot of the Walk pub in Leith.

00:00I went along to Leif's newest pub, The Angel, in the former Foot of the Walk pub, which was shut by Witherspoons in November last year.

00:11The new pub opened its doors on Monday, March the 31st, and it's now a sports bar with music and screens around the bar.

00:19I spoke to customers to see what they think of the changes.

00:22It's basically cleaned up. The Wetherspoons, they say it's got a new carpet, and obviously the beer's almost comedy-cheek.

00:36An excellent pint of old Peculiar.

00:40And what about the music? Because obviously spoons them on music.

00:43It's just background just fine.

00:45You'll be quite happy with that.

00:46Yeah.

00:46The one's nice and it's cleaner, but I think their biggest downfall is they're not doing food because there's a sports bar.

00:53So if you're hungry, you're going to go away.

00:57And between, what's that food we're doing?

00:59Yeah, even something like that.

01:02What about the music and the screens and all that? That's obviously changed.

01:04Well, they're not screens, it's televisions.

01:06I've got a sports bar, you've got a nice big screen.

01:09Right. You want it bigger?

01:11Aye.

01:12I don't know that I do, I don't know much.

01:13Anything else you'd like to add, madam?

01:15I didn't like their shine above the dark, but I'm sexy and I throw it, I think it's stupid.

01:20I honestly think it's stupid, because I played ours for a league and I'm 70 feet and I play for a league.

01:25You think that's quite insulting?

01:26It's stupid.

01:28Well, I think it's very nice, yeah, it's good.

01:31I'll miss the food.

01:33That's the only thing they're lacking, eh?

01:35Yeah.

01:36What about the screens and the music?

01:37Oh, it's great.

01:38That was the only thing that you never got a lot of, the weather smokes.

01:43You never got a lot of sport.

01:44You're happy over all them?

01:46Oh, right, definitely.

01:48Yeah, it looks nice.

01:50Never came for the, it used to be the weather screen, but it's really, it's really, it's beautiful inside.

01:56Never came, but I've got more television and I've got music.

02:00You prefer that?

02:00It's very good.

02:02And a sports bar.

02:06All the choice of football.
