00:00As arrangements are being made by the office of the president to swear in
00:04Stuart Young as the country's eighth Prime Minister, the opposition leader is
00:08issuing a stunned caution. Kamala Prasad possesses challenging Dr. Keith Rowley to
00:13publicly release the legal opinion he claims he possesses that supports the
00:18quote-unquote anointing of Stuart Young as Prime Minister. In an interview with
00:22TV6 the opposition leader says quote the UNC is of the firm position that his
00:27appointment is illegal once Dr. Rowley remains as PNM political leader end
00:33quote. Prasad Bisesa says only if Dr. Rowley simultaneously steps down as
00:38leader of the PNM and Prime Minister would the appointment of Young be
00:43constitutional. She calls it an insult to the country that Stuart Young who was
00:47not elected as leader of his own party is being quote-unquote
00:52democratically foisted on the population. She calls the appointment a
00:57coup that was backed by financers connected to the party. Prasad Bisesa
01:02says quote it is an act of gross ingratitude and betrayal toward the PNM
01:07rank-and-file members who loyally supported Rowley for over 40 years. He has
01:12wickedly betrayed them and took away their right to select a leader of their
01:17choice end quote. The opposition leader says had there been a PNM internal
01:22election Young would have been decimated by Penelope Beckles so it is
01:26also an act of betrayal against the electorate. She claims the Prime
01:30Ministership of Trinidad and Tobago has been sold to the highest bidding
01:35financers. The opposition leader maintains any actions taken by Young as
01:39Prime Minister if his appointment goes through in the way Dr. Rowley is
01:43proceeding would be illegal and invalid. She says quote the Prime Minister must
01:49dissolve the Parliament and call the election. Let the people decide who they
01:54want to lead them end quote.
