Chesterfield Market after revamp

We asked town centre visitors what they think of new Chesterfield Market Place.

00:09into town again as well, and I think once they've finished that bit down there, I feel

00:17like it's going to be even better.

00:20We've lived in Chesterfield now, well I've lived here for 49 years and I just think it's

00:25brilliant, love to see investment in Chesterfield, it's just good, it's just good to see the

00:30town's got a fresh look and it's pretty exciting for us isn't it?

00:33Yeah, we think it's great, I think they've done a great job of just updating it and just

00:38loving the new freshness of it and just seeing people actually using the market again is

00:43really exciting, so yeah, I think it's great.

00:46Better days ahead for Chesterfield, that's what we think.

00:49So what do you think about the new marketplace?

00:52Well the new market, it's coming on quite well actually, but the only real concern I

00:57have about it is if they'll be able to fill all the stalls on the designated market day,

01:05because the only time they seem to fill the stalls is on a Thursday when it's a brick

01:10and brack market and antiques and a lot of people come to that and nearly all the stalls

01:18are full, so that's the only concern I have, if they can fill the stalls, it will be good

01:24for Chesterfield.

01:26We need more sellers, that's what we need to make it more, and there's a lot that ain't

01:31there, we need loads more, Chesterfield market used to be big and now it's small, we need

01:39to move more in, the flea markets are great, absolutely brilliant, it's just these little

01:47ones here, if we're going to make the market great, we need more people, more sellers.
