Mother charged with attempted murder of three children in Syndey

A Sydney woman has been charged with attempted murder and refused bail. The 47-year-old is accused of stabbing her three children while they slept in their beds. Detectives are searching for a motive behind the attack.

00:07three counts of grievous bodily harm with intent to murder.

00:12Emergency services were called to her Borkham Hills home in Sydney's northwest just after

00:165am on Monday morning to find three children aged 10, 13 and 16 with stab wounds.

00:24The woman also allegedly stabbed herself.

00:28Police said the father heard the children's screams in the early morning and intervened

00:32before disarming his wife and calling triple zero.

00:36A kitchen knife was seized from the home and is being examined.

00:40The children were taken to Westmead Children's Hospital where they remain in stable condition.

00:45The woman is yet to be interviewed by police and detectives are still trying to investigate

00:51the motive behind the stabbings.

00:53The solicitor did not apply for bail this morning.

00:57The matter has been adjourned until May.
