00:00More MP Saeed Sadiq Saeed Abdul Rahman had shown malicious intent when abetting in the

00:06withdrawal of RM1 million from the bank account of Bursatu Youth, the Court of Appeal heard

00:11today.

00:12Deputy Public Prosecutor Wan Shahruddin Wan Laden said this could be inferred from the

00:17conduct of the appellant, Saeed Sadiq, soon after the Sheraton move took place in early

00:212020.

00:22Wan Shahruddin said Saeed Sadiq told several youth members the funds belonged to him due

00:27to his efforts as Armada Chief and later instructed then-Bursatu Youth Assistant Treasurer

00:32Rafiq Hakim Razali to withdraw the money.

00:36Wan Shahruddin said the trial judge had found Rafiq and then-Bursatu Youth Assistant Secretary

00:40Ahmad Rizwan Shafi to be credible witnesses despite Saeed Sadiq's claims they were lying

00:46to save themselves.

00:47He also said Justice Azhar Abdul Hamid, who presided over the trial, had properly evaluated

00:53all evidence before convicting Saeed Sadiq and that the appellate court should uphold

00:57the conviction.

00:58The hearing was adjourned to April 17 after Wan Shahruddin complained of throat pain.

01:03On November 9, 2023, Saeed Sadiq was found guilty of abetting a criminal breach of trust

01:07amounting to RM1 million and dishonest misappropriation of RM120,000.
