00:00A labourer has been sentenced to five months jail and a RM2000 fine for threatening actor-comedian

00:06Harith Iskandar's daughter.

00:09Magistrate S. Magiswari meted out the sentence on Izzuddin Salim 31 after he pleaded guilty.

00:15Izzuddin was charged with making the threat via WhatsApp to Harith's ex-wife, Dr. Jesamin

00:19Lim, with a picture of their daughter attached in the message.

00:24According to the charge sheet in a WhatsApp message at 8.50am on January 23rd, Izzuddin

00:29warned Lim that I'm after your daughter and that police will protect you but police won't

00:33protect your daughter.

00:35The charge was framed under Section 506 of the Penal Code for Criminal Intimidation,

00:39which is punishable with imprisonment for up to seven years or a fine or both upon conviction.

00:44Before the sentence was meted out, Izzuddin, who was not represented by a lawyer, apologised

00:49to the court and expressed regret over his actions.
