00:00Former Minister Rafidah Aziz has described the leakages, mismanagement and abuses identified

00:07in the Auditor General's report as proof that the culture of integrity is seriously

00:11being eroded in Malaysia.

00:14Rafidah said it was mind-boggling to learn from the report how pervasive the lack of

00:17integrity was in Malaysian society, with no sector untouched by the toxicity of power

00:22abuse.

00:24In a statement, she said the latest audit report revealed diversions from good governance

00:28involving billions of ringgits of public funds, and that such leakages, diversions

00:33and pilfering must be seriously tackled.

00:37She said to stop allowing foxes to guard the chicken coops, and to ingrain a culture of

00:41integrity within the broader education system.

00:45Rafidah suggested a review of existing procedures, procurement practices, points of authority

00:50and decision-making processes.

00:53She also called for a halt to the creation of new boards and agencies catering to numerous

00:57sub-sectors and activities, adding that the agencies and individuals identified in the

01:01audit report should be investigated.
