00:00The top diplomats from the group of seven industrialized democracies agreed Friday on
00:05joint statement expressing support for Ukraine and also condemning the ongoing conflict in
00:09Sudan and DRC, among other resolutions.
00:13In a statement, the group condemned the ongoing violence and atrocities in Sudan, including
00:17widespread sexual violence.
00:19The meeting touched on other issues of insecurity, including the war between the M23 rebels and
00:24the Congolese government in the eastern region.
00:28Coming out of this G7 gathering, which is happening at a hugely important time, 50 years
00:36since the founding of the G7, I think we're going to see a unified position, a detailed
00:43statement on Ukraine, on the crisis in the Middle East, on war in Africa, in the DRC,
00:53in Rwanda, and of course in Sudan, and concerns about China's activity in the South China
01:00Sea and the behavior of Maduro in Venezuela.
01:04All of that has united us.
01:06There will be strong language on all of these issues.
01:09So this has been a unified conference in which we have found common ground.
01:15And I'm pleased at the effort and the sense of warmth that exists across the partners
01:21in the G7.
01:23The final communique presented common positions not only on Ukraine but on the Middle East,
01:28wars in Africa, and Chinese activity in South China Sea.
