Plymouth fisherfolk are up in arms with the THA over the deteriorated state of the Plymouth jetty. Speaking to the media on Thursday in Plymouth, President of the All Tobago Fisherfolk Association Curtis Douglas said, the present THA has issued a number of failed promises in the matter. Elizabeth Williams was at the media conference and has this report.

00:10Because promise is a comfort to a fool, and nothing has been done, nothing.
00:16We are still fixing tennis court, they're fixing all sorts of things.
00:20They're fixing the Constituents Road, but nobody is fixing the jetty.
00:26Mr. Douglas is calling on the PDP leader Watson Duke to fix the present matter, as it's under
00:31a PDP ticket, the present THA under Chief Secretary Farley Augustine and his Assemblymen
00:38were elected.
00:39In addition, Mr. Douglas said Fisher Folk are still owed over $3 million in outstanding
00:46oil spill compensation monies.
00:48Mr. Douglas provided a list to the media showing when payments were made to the Fisher Folk
00:53by the THA, and the outstanding monies owed.
00:56How come, whether it's the Chief Administrator, or how come, whether it's Farley or Petain
01:02Roberts, could decide to pay all the Trinidadian contractors in full, and over a year now,
01:10the Fisher Folk still waiting for the payment.
01:13Mr. Douglas is calling on the Farley-led THA to call the THA elections now.
01:18I want to let you, and Farley, and the, whatever party, or the other color itself, which the
01:25people, which will never face the election, but say it in, that all the running things,
01:31or they never face the poll, or they have no election experience, but all they want
01:37to, all they want to tell people, all this stupidity, or people party, or whatever the
01:40case may be.
01:41I don't, I don't want, I don't want to stand on nobody.
01:43Everybody have a right to choose what they want, but the people never vote for all here.
01:48The people never vote for all here, so do the right thing.
01:50Call elections, and call it now, before early.
