00:00The killing of three men between Thursday night and this morning in

00:04separate incidents in Morva San Juan and San Gregrande have pushed the murder

00:09toll to 69. The comparative for the same period in 2024 was 100. At about 738 p.m.

00:16on Thursday, Morva police received a report of loud explosions in the

00:21never-duty area. A team of officers went to Laventille Extension Road where they

00:26observed a crowd gathered around an orange Nissan Almera which had crashed

00:31into a gate. Inside the vehicle, officers found Shaquille Prosper, 30 years of

00:36Cedar Street, Morva in the driver's seat slumped over the passenger side with

00:41gunshot wounds to the head. Investigators recovered 21 spent 9

00:45millimeter shell casings at the scene. In another incident, 40-year-old Dwight

00:51Badal was shot and killed outside Express Mini Mart on Foster Road,

00:55San Gregrande at 8.50 p.m. while Badal was liming with a relative. A lone

01:01gunman approached the Mini Mart and opened fire on the two men who tried to

01:04run but Badal fell to the ground. Police say the gunman who had a blue cloth over

01:09his face walked up to him and continued shooting at point-blank range. The

01:14suspect ran to a Nissan Almera parked nearby and drove off. In San Juan on

01:20Friday, 26-year-old Kyron Regis was shot dead just before 9 a.m. along Second

01:26Street. A blue Almera was seen fleeing the scene. Regis, who is from Morva, died

01:31shortly after. Police have no motive for the killing. One man has been arrested

01:37and firearms and ammunition seized during an anti-crime exercise in Port of

01:41Spain last night. Police on their way to production drive-thru lot saw a man

01:45emerging from a truck. The man ran off on spotting the marked police vehicle. The

01:51officers gave chase but the suspect evaded capture. Officers searched the

01:55area and found a rug of firearm fitted with a magazine containing three rounds

01:59of .45 caliber ammunition. Meanwhile, police searched a home at

02:03Springside Avenue, Eastern Quarry, Lavant Hill and found a black Taurus pistol with

02:0812 rounds of 9-millimeter ammunition tucked in a couch. One male suspect was

02:14arrested.
