00:00The Bureau of Internal Revenue or BIR is continuously improving its digital systems to make it easier for taxpayers to pay their obligations.
00:09Chris Hidreda of PIA Colabarzon tells us more.
00:15Federico is a business owner who regularly pays his taxes.
00:19He is now one of many clients of the BIR who utilize the online platforms in accomplishing their dues.
00:25It's more convenient because you don't have to hassle to go there, line up, get a number, just throw it online.
00:36That's why the process is faster.
00:38Following the mandate of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. to digitize government processes,
00:43BIR promotes the usage of its electronic platforms to make tax filing, tax payment, online registration,
00:51updating of records, and submission of income tax returns more convenient.
00:55All of these were necessary for the BIR to provide excellent services to the taxpayers,
01:01to provide excellent services which will translate to higher voluntary compliance and ultimately increase in tax collections.
01:10System enhancements are underway, according to BIR, to make their platforms more user-friendly and easier to use.
01:18I hope that there will be many improvements in our systems and in our digital transformation.
01:26Even though it's not ready yet, we're working very hard to deliver this to you and to the future generations.
01:37Commissioner Lumagi adds that they continue to improve the digital platforms of BIR to achieve the full digitization by 2028.
