00:00President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. has passed Executive Order No. 80

00:04which will implement the Philippine Schedule of Trade

00:10or Tariff Commitment under the Free Trade Agreement or FTA in South Korea.

00:15The products will be placed in the EO which will allow for a lower tariff

00:19with the intention to strengthen and expand trade opportunities

00:23between the Philippines and South Korea.

00:30Meanwhile, this holiday season, money will also be sent through e-wallets and digital banks.

00:37That's why the public is reminded to be careful

00:40and to be vigilant in the rise of spoofing scams.

00:44The details are in the center of the news of JM Pineda.

00:49In the past few years, certified scammers have also become high-tech.

00:55In fact, your digital banks are also low-tech.

01:01Digital banking and e-wallets are now popular for cashless payments

01:05and electronic savings.

01:07But scammers are now using text blasters or spoofing scams.

01:12Just last week, a post about the scamming incident in GoTime app

01:17was posted on social media.

01:19One of the victims is Alias Mia.

01:23It was around 5 p.m. on December 20,

01:25when she received a text message from GoTime Bank

01:28about her cashback.

01:30In a hurry, she clicked the link included in the text.

01:33From there, Alias Mia received almost all of her savings from GoTime Bank

01:38which amounted to Php 200,000.

01:41I was shocked.

01:43That's how I felt. I got cold and I was shocked.

01:46Because it was my four years of savings

01:49and it will be gone in four minutes.

01:51I am saving so that I can save at home,

01:54if ever, for emergency funds and for my travel.

02:00Currently, the Central Bank of the Philippines is waiting

02:03for the explanation of GoTime Bank regarding this.

02:05The Philippine Scam Watch has called telecommunication companies

02:09regarding text scams like the one received by Alias Mia.

02:12If possible, when it comes to SMS marketing,

02:17so that we can say that this SMS is being used by organized scammers

02:23to deceive people, so that their phishing scams can enter.
