00:00Well, it was a very bitter debate between the government and the opposition on the no-confidence
00:09motion that had been moved by opposition parties against the Modi government.
00:12It ended with the Prime Minister largely focusing his long speech on attacking the opposition
00:17alliance, its name, its agenda, attacking Rahul Gandhi without actually naming him.
00:23And ironically, the opposition had moved this no-confidence motion to get the Prime Minister
00:29to break his silence on Manipur, a state that has seen violence now since the beginning
00:34of May.
00:35In the end, though, Mr Modi only spent a few sentences on Manipur, that too more than 90
00:40minutes into his speech, by which time the opposition had walked out.
00:43On its part, the opposition wanted to focus on Manipur in the beginning, but then the
00:47debate became a much bigger issue about various policies of the Modi government that various
00:53parties then criticized over the course of the three-day debate.
00:57What this debate has done is shown us what the agenda is going to be like for each side
01:02ahead of the next general election.
01:04The stage has not been set.
