00:08taking place in India at the moment. But in Madhya Pradesh, Jyotiraditya Sindhya's lasting
00:13value to the BJP is going to be determined by this state poll. Simply because this is
00:18the first time that Mr. Sindhya is contesting on a BJP ticket. And his area, his region
00:24of Chambal Gwalior is actually a Congress stronghold and has been a Congress stronghold
00:29for decades. So it's actually quite a challenge for him. Remember, he crossed over to the
00:33BJP in 2020, bringing down Kamal Nath's Congress government with the support of more
00:38than 20 Congress MLAs. At that time, and even till today, that has caused quite a rift internally
00:44within the BJP, with many in the Madhya Pradesh BJP feeling sidelined because of the importance
00:50that Mr. Sindhya and his supporters within the party have got. However, since then, several
00:56of Mr. Sindhya's loyalists, including a handful of MLAs have actually gone back to the Congress
01:00party. So this will be a true test of his leadership outside of that Congress fold,
01:06and whether he has truly been embraced by BJP voters in the state. It will be an interesting
01:12contest to watch.
