00:00Here's today's Derbyshire Times video bulletin.

00:03A Derbyshire council has vowed that its car parks will not become like other notorious sites,

00:09fining people for overstaying by slim margins.

00:12Derbyshire Dale District Council members have adopted a slew of new car park changes,

00:17including 30 minutes of free parking.

00:20Bicky Wingfield, who is neighbourhood's manager, said users would get a separate ticket

00:24entitling them to 30 minutes free, as opposed to getting the first 30 minutes

00:28of their paid-for stay without a charge.

00:31She confirmed that there would be a 10-minute grace period

00:34for people overstaying their 30-minute slot.

00:37However, camera monitoring of the 30-minute sessions was ruled out,

00:40with councillor Martin Burfoot saying that the authority did not want to get

00:44a notorious reputation for pining people parking if they overstayed their allotted time

00:49by just a small margin.

00:53Big-hearted walkers are being encouraged to step out

00:56on a trek challenge in the Peak District to raise money for end-of-life care.

01:00Ashgate Hospice's High Peak Trail Walk on March 23rd

01:04will follow the route of the former Cromford and High Peak Railway.

01:08The fundraiser, which starts at Cromford Meadows,

01:11ranges from a 70 on my trek to an 11-mile ramble,

01:14and there is also a 3.5-mile stroll for less experienced walkers or children.

01:19Entry costs for the High Peak Trail Walk depend on the distance of the chosen walk,

01:24but those taking on the 17-mile route and the 11-mile route

01:27will pay £15 entry per person.

01:30Meanwhile, adults will pay £10 for the 3.5-mile walk

01:33and entry is £5 for children.

01:36Each walker will receive a T-shirt, medal and coach transfer

01:39to their chosen starting point and refreshments along the route.
