00:04Outline planning permission has been granted to a developer to build 500 new homes on the outskirts of Chesterfield.

00:11William Davis's housing development scheme for the site off Dunstan Road includes a takeaway, a pub or restaurant,

00:18land reserve for a primary school and the reinstatement of a former cricket pitch.

00:22However, the developer's plans for the site near the Skylarks housing development have attracted a barrage of objections.

00:28A petition with over 700 signatures calling for a halt to the destruction of agricultural land

00:34and raising concerns about a significant increase on the narrow Dunstan Road

00:38was submitted by Dunstan Grain Action Group to Chesterfield Borough Council in 2023.

00:45Chesterfield parking charges are set to go up in a couple of weeks time, including higher fees for blue badge holders.

00:51Chesterfield Borough Council is set to increase its car parking charges from Tuesday April 1st.

00:57Most prices will go up by 10p or 20p depending on the location and the length of stay,

01:02with higher increases for monthly and annual permits and blue badge holders.
