Ripley Castle Estate: Sir Thomas and Lady Ingilby of famous £21m estate reveal why they are selling after 700 years in the family

00:00Hi, I'm Lady Ingleby, Emma, and I'm Sir Thomas Ingleby.

00:11I inherited the castle at the age of 18 and so I've been managing it for over 50 years

00:20and I'll be 70 this year and like everyone else at that age it's time to retire.

00:27I think we've both so loved bringing up a family here, we've been the 28th generation

00:33of Ingleby's and I think sometimes you just say we've done our bit, we'll retire and we

00:39close a chapter on the Ingleby's at Ripley but it's exciting prospect for Ripley moving

00:43into the next hopefully 100 or 700 years.

00:47You know whenever you leave a home there's always a little bit of sadness but we could

00:51not have loved it more, we couldn't have had more fun, we couldn't have worked harder and

00:55I think that we will also have a feeling of excitement about what's ahead for both
