00:06So young people across Yorkshire will be enjoying a week off school as half term gets underway with plenty of activities on offer ahead of Halloween on Friday.
00:15There is broomstick making at Brimham Rocks, puppet shows and Minecraft inspired escape rooms at the National Coal Mining Museum and children can uncover surprises at the Skipton Monster Trail.
00:27Elsewhere, the Conservative MP for Keefley and Ilkley, Robbie Moore, will lead a debate on a petition presented to Parliament about pupils being allowed to go on holiday during school term time without their parents incurring fines.
00:41The Westminster Hall session takes place at 4.30pm today.
00:46And Bradford Science Festival has returned to venues across the area for its year as UK City of Culture.
00:52It got underway over the weekend and is on until Sunday this week.
00:57The National Science and Media Museum says that through this year's theme of Future World, it will transform participating locations into zones exploring the future of technology, fashion, climate, sound and food.
