00:00Yes, Canberra drivers do tend to drive a little bit quickly, maybe.
00:04Spitting is a problem, Lee. It can take to your legs.
00:06Speeding.
00:07I've been hit up the backside bug from people tailgating, so it's not a pleasant experience.
00:13Sungarland Drive, yeah, not the Parkway. I try to avoid that.
00:17I think people are a little bit ignorant of the dangers of tailgating.
00:22Speeding as well. Not looking out for one another who is driving on the road.
00:25Being on that phone, kind of being selfish in a way.
00:31People in Canberra are a bit more relaxed, which has upsides and downsides.
00:36Sometimes it's annoying if someone's just sitting in the right lane, not letting people pass.
00:40But I think it's better than an aggressive traffic system.
00:43I have one opinion about Canberra drivers, is I think there's too much tailgating that goes on.
00:48So lots of crashes on the major 80 zones in Canberra,
00:50and people should be staying three seconds behind the car in front of them.
00:54If you use the three second rule, it doesn't matter what speed you are,
00:56you'll always bring the safe distance behind.
00:58And I think cyclists need to be given a bit more room as well.
01:01There's been some deaths in ACT this year of cyclists, and that's really sad.
01:05So people can give cyclists a bit more room and obey the rules.
01:08I generally have to come down Northbourne Avenue, and that can get a bit chaotic sometimes,
01:15especially with the roadworks that they've got now.
01:18And that comes back to the merging thing, I suppose.
01:20People just decide that, nah, they're not going to let you in.
01:22Basically, they're on the road and they own it.
01:25I drive a motorbike, and till now I have a good experience.
01:29Whenever I drive a bike, people who live in Canberra just give away for the motorbike.
01:36It's quite fun and chill riding in Canberra.
01:40Last time I saw next to the traffic, a guy was just parking his car on a roadside,
01:48and he just hit that car and ran away without doing anything.
01:53People going faster than 50, and there's pedestrians around and kids,
01:59and it's a bit of a concern.
02:00I think we need to be cognisant that we need to allow merging.
02:05Like, I grew up in Sydney, and you just let people in.
02:08Let's do that in Canberra.
02:09Let's be aware that, oh, we all want to get left, like, say, onto the Barton Highway.
02:15Let people in from the netball courts.
02:17They want to get out, you know, within half an hour or something.
02:21So let's be courteous.
02:23Just drive safe.
02:24Be respectful to yourself and others.
02:27You always want to make it home at the end of the day.
