Hello, well it's a cold and dull picture across central and southern England today, but there
00:05
are brighter spells developing elsewhere. Taking a look at the bigger picture then,
00:09
we have area of higher pressure extending across the south, squeezing the ice bars towards
00:14
the north and west, with this weather front just gradually pushing in across Northern
00:19
Ireland and Western Scotland Sunday and into Monday.
00:24
But back to the rest of this afternoon, we hold on to this blanket of cloud across central
00:28
and southern England, thick enough for some drizzle in places. Further towards the west,
00:33
a bit more of a breeze, so we'll see some breaks in the cloud developing across northern
00:37
parts of Devon, Cornwall, into Wales and more so across north-eastern England.
00:42
Best of the sunshine though, across north and eastern parts of Scotland, we hold on
00:46
to a bit more of a breeze further towards the west where the winds will gradually ease
00:51
through the day. But it'll be here where we see the highest temperatures today at around
00:56
12 or 13 degrees. That's a significant comparison further towards the south. Underneath this
01:02
cloud, with colder air coming up from the near continent, temperatures struggling only
01:06
around 3 or 5 degrees.
01:10
So as we go through Saturday night, this cloud continues to push its way northwards, affecting
01:16
northern parts of Wales and into northern England. There will be some breaks though,
01:20
and where we see any breaks, a touch of frost may develop and some mist and fog patches
01:25
too, with this weather front just gradually trying to push in from the west. But otherwise,
01:30
it is going to be a cold night underneath this blanket of cloud, temperatures close
01:35
to freezing, but still mild across northern Ireland and western parts of Scotland.
01:42
So if you are up early Sunday morning on your stroll across the south, you may see some
01:46
drizzle but also some snow grains being brought up from the English Channel. But for all of
01:52
us Sunday, it is going to be a cloudier picture, especially across parts of Wales and northern
01:57
England. Further towards the west of northern Ireland, that's where we'll start to see this
02:02
weather front just gradually approaching, just to bring some drizzle in places. But
02:07
otherwise, it is going to be feeling cold for all of us. Again, temperatures struggling
02:12
here at around 2 to 5 degrees, always mildest further towards the west.
02:19
And as we go through Sunday evening, not much change across England and Wales. Hold on to
02:23
a lot of cloud, maybe some breaks to allow some mist, fog and a touch of frost. But further
02:29
towards the west, across northern Ireland and western parts of Scotland, this is that
02:33
weather front just bringing some rain and drizzle at times. But that's all from me for
02:39
now. Make sure to hit subscribe so you don't miss any updates, and I'll catch you soon.
02:43
Bye bye.
