00:00Former Ilocos Sur Governor Luis Chavez Singson formally withdrew his candidacy for Senator

00:05in the May 2025 national and local elections.

00:09He personally went to the Commission on Elections or CONOLEC office in Intramuros to file his

00:15certificate of withdrawal.

00:17Singson explained his reason was pneumonia, revealing he had not slept for five days straight

00:22due to concerns on his health and candidacy.

00:25He also clarified that even though he has withdrawn from the race, his assistance and

00:31projects will continue.

00:32Meanwhile, CONOLEC Chairperson George Erwin Garcia said Singson's name will be removed

00:38from the reprinted ballots that will begin next week.

00:55Singson said.
