00:17The UK's chief emergency doctor, Adrian Boyle, said that the flu outbreak had severe consequences

00:23for already overwhelmed hospitals.

00:25Furthermore, National Medical Director of NHS England, Professor Sir Stephen Powis,

00:30reportedly said that the demand showed no signs of letting up.

00:34It's reported that the North East is seeing the most hospitalisations from influenza,

00:38with that number in the thousands.

00:40In the Midlands, there are reportedly almost 300 people hospitalised for flu in Birmingham.

00:46Health Secretary Wes Streeting reportedly said that we've got this extraordinary pressure

00:51on flu, where we've got between three and four times as many hospital beds taken up

00:56with flu cases this year than we did this time last year.
