00:01Almost 3,000 patients a day in England are receiving care in hospital corridors or other
00:06unsuitable areas because of a lack of A&E beds according to new NHS England figures. It shows
00:12an average of 2,241 instances a day of corridor care lasting more than 45 minutes in A&E units
00:19and a further 699 cases in other inappropriate settings including cupboards, car parks or
00:26toilets. The data also suggests regional differences between NHS trusts with a small
00:32number accounting for more than half of recorded cases. NHS England says publishing the figures is
00:38intended to highlight pressure and help reduce unsafe care practices further.
