00:10two days after his death by suicide. The statement read,
00:13This is an unimaginable tragedy. We are deeply grateful to everyone who has offered support.
00:18Please respect our privacy during this time.
00:21Baina, an indie film director and writer, died Friday in his Los Angeles home,
00:26according to the Los Angeles County Coroner's Office. He was 47.
00:29Plaza and Baina have been together for over two decades. The stars dated for three years
00:34before she starred in his 2014 directorial debut, Life After Beth, which he also wrote.
00:40It was nominated for the Grand Jury Prize at the Sundance Film Festival.
00:44The couple proceeded to collaborate together on numerous films over the years.
00:48Plaza and Baina have been married since 2021.
00:51The tragic news comes just as Plaza was announced to present at Sunday's Golden Globe Awards,
00:56but pulled out following his death.
