00:00I'm okay. But, you know, it's like a daily struggle, obviously.
00:09Aubrey Plaza is opening up about the grief surrounding her late husband's passing,
00:14who died by suicide. The White Lotus actress appeared on the Good Hang with Amy Poehler
00:19podcast, where she discussed how she's doing in the wake of Jeff Bainas' death in January.
00:24Poehler broached the subject with her former Perks and Rec castmate,
00:27noting that many of her fans want to know how she is, given the tragic circumstances.
00:32I'm in this very present moment. I'm happy to be with you.
00:36Overall, I'm here and I'm functioning and I feel, you know, like I feel really grateful to be
00:45moving through the world. She continued, I'm okay, but you know, it's a daily struggle, obviously.
00:52Plaza went on to use the Apple TV Plus sci-fi movie, The Gorge, as a metaphor for what it's like trying
00:57to deal with having a dark and monstrous ever-present void in your life. It's like an
01:02alien movie with Miles Teller. In the movie, there's a cliff on one side and a cliff on the
01:06other side, and there's a gorge in the middle with monster people that are trying to get them.
01:11I watched it. I was like, that is like, feels like what my grief is like, where it's like,
01:17or what grief could be like.
01:18She continued, at all time, there's like a giant ocean of awfulness that's like right there,
01:23and I can see it. And like, sometimes I, I just want to like, just dive into it and just like
01:29be in it. And then, and then sometimes I just like look at it. And then sometimes I'm like,
01:34I just try to get away from it, but it's always there.
