00:00This holiday season is also the time to send money through e-wallets and digital banks.

00:07That's why the public is reminded to be careful and to be vigilant in the case of so-called spoofing scams.

00:17JMPineda of IBC 13 will tell you what it is.

00:21In the past few years, certified scammers have also become high-tech.

00:30In fact, they are now countering your digital banks.

00:35Digital banking and e-wallets are now popular for cashless payments and electronic savings.

00:41But now, scammers are using text blasters or spoofing scams.

00:48Last week, the post about the scamming incident on GoTime app went viral on social media.

00:54One of the victims is Alyas Mia.

00:57Around 5pm on December 20, she received a text message from GoTime Bank about her cashback.

01:04In a hurry, she clicked the link included in the text.

01:08From there, Alyas Mia received almost all of her savings from GoTime Bank, which also reached Php 200,000.

01:15I was shocked.

01:17That's how I felt. I felt cold and shocked.

01:21I have been saving for four years and it will be gone in four minutes.

01:25I am saving so that I can save at home, if ever, for emergency funds and for my travel.

01:35Now, the Central Bank of the Philippines is waiting for the explanation of GoTime Bank.

01:40The Philippine Scam Watch has called on telecommunication companies to stop using text scams like the one received by Mia.

01:47If possible, when it comes to SMS marketing, let's not put a link.

01:52So that we can say that SMS is used by organized scammers to deceive, to get into their phishing scams.

02:03Millions of victims of scams in the whole Philippines.

02:07That number is not a joke.

02:09That's why we should learn to have a two-way authentication security.

02:12And we should have a snubber sometimes so that you won't get what you suffered.
