00:00The Social Security System or SSS has released over 1.5 billion pesos worth of Calamity Loan

00:08Assistance to nearly 70,000 members affected by recent typhoons just two weeks after the

00:15launching of the assistance package.

00:17According to Acting Head of SSS Public Affairs and Special Events Division Carlo Villacorta,

00:24the loan assistance was made available last month to eligible members in areas hit by

00:29tropical cyclones Crescent, Marseille, Nica, Ophel and Pepito.

00:34Villacorta added many members affected by extreme weather disturbances have availed

00:39of Calamity Loans to recover from damages, expressing hope the assistance will help them

00:45rebuild in time for the holiday season.
