00:00Defense Secretary Gilberto Chidoro Jr. rejected a ceasefire with the CPP-NPA-NDF,

00:06calling it a move that would legitimize a jurassic group struggling for relevance.

00:11He emphasized that such a ceasefire would halt operations against terrorists,

00:15the Philippine news agency reported. The armed forces of the Philippines stated

00:20the communist insurgents can no longer conduct large-scale operations but are preparing for

00:25potential retaliatory attacks as the CPP marks its 56th anniversary on December 26th.

00:32AFP spokesperson Colonel Francel Magaret Padilla confirmed internal security operations will

00:37continue with only one weakened guerrilla front remaining out of seven at the start of the year.

00:43President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has directed the AFP to resolve the insurgency issue with

00:48completely insignificant progress already achieved.
