00:00The Department of Social Welfare and Development, or DSWD, clarified that the assistance is not a pork barrel

00:07after the income program or ACAP.

00:09This is the answer of the DSWD to the allegations that the ACAP is using the politics.

00:15According to DSWD Secretary Rex Gatchalian, the barangay officials have nothing to do with the choice of beneficiaries.

00:23Gatchalian also said that the DSWD social workers are the ones who are processing the applications

00:29and decided on the amount of assistance for the qualified beneficiaries,

00:35which is Php 26.7 billion,

00:38the fund allocated to the ACAP program of the DSWD under the General Appropriations Act of 2024

00:45for those affected by high inflation.
