00:00Yesterday, of course, Jimmy Butler was in the news because of Shams.
00:07To be honest with you, one of the things that annoys me about this is none of this is really
00:10new.
00:11It's just, we had to, we, we, we Sham wowed it, you know, he came out here and he was
00:16like, Oh, he, we don't really have anything going on today.
00:20And that's what it, that's what it sounds like.
00:23Like you just bringing something to the forefront, right.
00:25And everybody in the world kind of had an idea.
00:29We talked about it in the summer, like, you think that he might do this and we, we've
00:35had these conversations, but now, now, now all of a sudden it's a big deal because he
00:41didn't had a month of good basketball Sham.
00:44Wow.
00:45Comes out here, puts a little new shine on the trade rumors.
00:49And all of a sudden we got ourselves a, a national basketball controversy, but it also
00:55brings out conspiracies.
00:58This could be something could be nothing.
01:02I don't know.
01:04But yesterday the Twitter account, emo Jimmy, maybe you've stumbled upon something.
01:14He says, team's interested in Jimmy Mavs rockets warriors.
01:22What if Jimmy was sending a message to us all season long with his hair color choices?
01:27And then he attaches this, Ooh, you got gold for golden state.
01:35That's blonde, but blue, blue for the Mavs, red for the rockets.
01:43Now I would have said, Hey, he's kind of wearing heat colors up until the blue, the blue kind
01:46of threw us all for a loop.
01:48I will be honest with you.
01:49It did.
01:51But what do you make of emo Jimmy's detective work here of the heat getting a message subliminally
01:59from Jimmy Butler with his hair choice?
02:02Here's what I would say this, and this is not a secret.
02:10Jimmy is always trolling.
02:14And so it could mean all the things emo Jimmy said, or it can mean absolutely nothing, right?
02:23That's just how Jimmy rolls.
02:25By the way, can we have J figure minus one for show ponieness minus one for show ponieness.
02:33First of all, this is a sports show and you dealing with morons.
02:38Why in the hell would that be the first thing to come to mind?
02:42They're also primary colors.
02:45What?
02:46That's what he was thinking.
02:47That's what he said to his hairdresser.
02:51Let's make sure we only use primary colors.
02:54What does that mean?
02:58I don't know that Marcos, I'm hurt by the potential of this.
03:07Therefore, I'm going to deny it and won't even entertain it.
03:13He would never do such a thing.
03:15He's just expressing himself because he didn't get to do anything funny on media day.
03:21That's true.
03:22Well, well, look, that's not the extent of Jimmy, right?
03:31Because if it was simple as that, Jimmy would have said something.
03:35Jimmy, Jimmy does things and he wants you to start talking exactly like we talking.
03:43That means Jimmy wins, whether it's true or not.
03:47We don't know whether there's conversation or not.
03:50We don't know.
03:51But guess what?
03:53Jimmy got us exactly where he wants us.
03:55Well, I liked it yesterday.
03:57Everybody was starting to dissect the songs that he had put out, which I think were out
04:00even before the rumors.
04:03There we go.
04:04So now they're dissecting.
04:05So yeah, I love blacks.
04:06I need a dollar.
04:07Wow.
04:08See, see, see, see, see, but yeah, so I don't, I don't take it as anything, right?
04:23Because if something happens, we're going to go back to this, but I don't think this
04:30has anything to do with, if anything would happen, Dade South says, Alex basketball Jones.
04:40You guys fell for it.
04:41You fall for it every time, especially you, I think.
04:45I think, did he talk to you in the locker room and say, Hey, get ready.
04:50I would say if anybody was going to fall for this or was going to bite on anything, would
04:55it be me?
04:56Yeah, I would.
04:57Yeah.
04:58I would.
04:59I would agree with that.
05:01But here's the kicker and, and I'm a little disappointed in you.
05:07Why?
05:08Because what emo Jimmy put out there is normally something that you would put out there way
05:16before emo Jimmy.
05:18It was, Hey, listen, props for props is do so.
05:21So I'm going to just say, I like to, I like to, I don't like to, uh, I don't like to do
05:28conspiracies that will cause the heat to lose somebody.
05:31Typically I'm going to be snooping around conspiracies that will benefit the heat.
05:35Yeah.
05:36Well, we should also have an account though.
05:39That's emo Jimmy, which is just an emo wearing a Jimmy Butler jersey.
05:46Let's hear from some of the parties.
05:47Jimmy did not speak to the media yesterday.
05:49He, uh, he didn't have anything to say, but also I just want to let, it was pointed out
05:54and this is, he doesn't talk after practices a lot.
05:56He usually talks after games.
05:58And they said he had a function or something.
06:00Maybe.
06:01I don't know.
06:02But that's the other thing.
06:04Like somebody here, here's what bothers me about all this.
06:09Somebody else put something out there, right?
06:13Now everybody on the team has to respond to something that somebody outside of the organization
06:18has put out there.
06:20Right.
06:21Jimmy, who doesn't normally talk now they're trying to get him to talk and he says no.
06:27Now everybody reads into that and there's something else and there'll probably be even
06:31more media there today at practice and he might not talk again.
06:35And everybody's like, I'm like, he doesn't, he doesn't talk a lot.
06:39I don't want to tell you guys.
06:41So like, we're gonna look into it more than what it actually is.
06:48I will say if, if Jimmy Butler does talk, he is going to no sell.
06:52If he does talk, he's going to no sell this 100%.
06:55Absolutely.
06:57Cause he's already, he's kind of already answered questions about this in camp or he said, doesn't
07:02matter.
07:03Nothing.
07:04He, first of all, he said Pat Riley was right.
07:06He has been the company man.
07:08He's toed the line the entire time.
07:10I remember him telling Ira in the, in camp, he says nothing I do now is going to get me
07:14paid anyway.
07:16So he's kind of addressed all this stuff.
07:17The only thing that's different, I guess you could say with this is the heat say there
07:22or according to Shams, the heat are open to offers.
07:25So that's a heat thing.
07:26It's not really a Jimmy thing.
07:27And apparently there's some list that Jimmy's agent has said if he preferred to go somewhere,
07:32it would be the two Texas teams or Golden state.
07:34Right.
07:35So, but I don't really know what, what does Jimmy have to say about that?
07:38I don't know.
07:39Right.
07:40Um, but people did answer about it yesterday.
07:42Tyler hero.
07:43This was him at practice yesterday when asked about the whole saga.
07:47He is of course a, if, if anybody's got a black belt in trade rumors, it's Tyler hero.
07:52He is Bruce Lee of trade right now.
07:57Here's Tyler hero.
07:58Obviously you get to a point in trade season where players are going to be mentioned.
08:03There was some speculation out there.
08:04I'm sure you're aware of Jimmy Butler today, ESPN reported.
08:08I'm just curious.
08:09I didn't know that.
08:10When you get to trade speculation season, how do you guys inside internalize that and
08:14not let that impact?
08:15Obviously, you know, you're familiar with that having dealt with it for years.
08:19Yeah.
08:20I got to, whatever you, I got to check my phone still this morning.
08:23Um, I didn't know what was said, uh, was Bob's felt good in here today, so I don't know.
08:30I don't know.
08:31I don't know what you're talking about.
08:32Now, now, now I'm going to say this, Tyler, I love you brother.
08:42You lie.
08:44You lie.
08:46The people in that room, they have all them damn followers.
08:50Don't have all them followers.
08:52Never checking.
08:53Nah.
08:54Right?
08:55No chance.
08:56He knows.
08:57I, if I was Tyler, I would say, glad it ain't me dog.
09:01I was probably like, finally, somebody else ain't nobody where I'm like, yeah, you hear
09:08my name?
09:09Good.
09:11Like, listen, here's what sucks about sports that people who don't play basketball that
09:21other people listen to can put stuff out there and it'll cause chaos in your world and you
09:30had nothing to do with it.
09:32And so what you learn how to do, what you learn, okay.
09:39You learn how to just not deal with it and you learn how to, you know, because here's
09:46what your coach and your agent will tell you.
09:53The only thing you can do is make the situation worse by worrying about that and not playing.
09:58Right?
09:59Then you make the situation worse for yourself by not playing to your best ability.
10:06And so a lot of times, regardless of how these things go, the players just have to
10:12go out and play because you're not going to know nothing anyway until your agent calls
10:18you.
10:19Your agent's going to call you before the team calls you in and then you just deal with
10:25it.
10:26I like, I knew I was gone before I went and talked to Ozzy because my agent called me.
10:34So I was downstairs packing my stuff.
10:37They go, what happened?
10:38I said, I'm out of here.
10:39What are you packing?
10:40Are you packing in a big bag?
10:41You got a box?
10:42Like you left an office cubicle.
10:43Like what do you do to pack up your stuff?
10:44You got your, you know, you got your bag with, you know, you have like, I mean when you somewhere
10:50for five years, you have your, you know, special pads, you have your shoes, you know, like
10:58if you have a helmet that you like and all that, do you know, man, you can take you like
11:02they let you take a helmet, usually they give you a couple of jerseys, stuff like that,
11:08you know, but.
11:09Cause let me tell you something, Jimmy's got two lockers, that's a lot of stuff.
11:13Yeah.
11:14But it don't, it don't matter.
11:15They'll like if you go to a new team and it's all of a sudden they'll box it up and send
11:19it to you.
11:20They'll just take everything out of your locker.
11:22We'll sell it to you.
11:24And now the way it works now is you don't even wear the colors of your damn team for
11:29shoes anyway.
11:30You know, and the shoes don't matter.
11:32Like you remember it used to be, you had to wear the colors of your team.
11:35Oh yeah.
11:36Now, like I see more lime green and now the thing is wearing a one color shoe on the left
11:43foot and another color shoe on the right foot players.
11:46Shoes look like a Skittles pack now.
11:48Right.
11:49Exactly.
11:50So like, but the worst and, and, and here's, here's where, you know, a guy's a professional
11:57is the worst thing that you could do is get caught up into all this nonsense and not go
12:04out and perform right.
12:07And I give you a perfect example.
12:09It was hard on Dame last year.
12:12It was hard and, and it showed up in his play and it's not a knock on him.
12:19It's just that people don't realize like you picking up, you leaving, he's not going where
12:26he thought he was going.
12:30His family's left behind cause God knows they don't want to live in Milwaukee.
12:34Right.
12:35And you did basically there by yourself somewhere you've been haven't been for years.
12:40You've always had the support system and the family around you and nobody wants to be in
12:45Milwaukee.
12:46Right.
12:47So, you know, it, and, and, and people say, ah, you ain't got a lot of money to do.
12:51It's not like I get it.
12:54I get it.
12:56These guys to be like unhuman, right?
12:59Just for, for once think of it from a human aspect, I take you out of your job right now.
13:05You gotta leave your family behind and you gotta go work six months somewhere else, right?
13:11There's just a certain level of angst and, and, and just difficulty that you have to
13:17deal with as a person, regardless of what your job is.
13:20So, um, just, and then just imagine just having not even that, but having chatter around
13:30it.
13:31So you ain't even really leaving, but you got chatter around Tyler every year for the
13:36last one, three years, everybody been coming to him about this time for the next two months
13:41asking Tyler about trade rumors.
13:43He ain't even 30 years old, not even 25, he's not even 25.
13:49Could you imagine when you were 24 years old having to have that?
13:53And yeah, you can put, yeah, well he's a basketball player.
13:56That's part of the deal, dude, you're still human.
14:01So yeah, it's, it's, it's tough.
14:04I think Jimmy is enough of a troll where it really won't bother him.
14:10And he's a veteran.
14:11He's been around the game.
14:13He's seen other guys come in and leave and understand everything.
14:17So from that standpoint, it's not going to bother him as much as it probably would Tyler.
14:26And that's just because he's more experienced than all the things that happened and how,
14:30you know, how things happen.
14:32But that being said, it still affects you, man.
14:36He's also, he's also in one of the most epic breakups of all time with that wolves divorce.
14:40Of course.
14:42Well, uh, it also, I think it matters that he he's not married.
14:48Doesn't have a family.
14:49Doesn't have a home base.
14:51Right.
14:52So as a single person, yeah, he got two babies though, but still as a single person, he can,
14:59you know, go with the wind, right?
15:02Take a break.
15:03More to come here on the show, including hot seat rooms for the dolphins.
15:09Back up to this previously on Tobin and Leroy.
15:12This Tyler here was a fraud.
15:14Never going to do it.
15:15He's never going to do it.
15:17If you don't show up tonight.
15:18Yeah.
15:19Oh, we need to trade for somebody else.
