00:04North-South split continues through today. High pressure is the dominant
00:08weather force sitting across Scotland and Northern Ireland, pushing weather
00:12fronts up to the north. Still quite a few isobars across the south, not as
00:16windy as yesterday but still a bit gusty, particularly to the west of the
00:20Pennines, the west of the Peak District, some lively gusts and quite a brisk
00:24breeze blowing right across eastern England, blowing in a few showers across
00:27southeast of England to the odd shower elsewhere but tending to ease off a bit
00:32through the afternoon. A bit more thick cloud and some light rain and drizzle
00:36over Shetland but for most it's a dry day. Plenty of sunshine for Scotland and
00:40Northern Ireland, a few stubborn fog patches, bit of brightness coming out
00:43across parts of Cumbria, North Wales too but most of England and Wales just
00:48fairly drab, overcast and temperatures struggling. Even where we've got the
00:52sunshine only 3-4 degrees Celsius where the fog lingers, not even getting that
00:57high. Further south, well feels cold doesn't it with that breeze and the
01:01thick cloud 7 or 8 degrees for most. As we go through the night, well not a great
01:05deal of change. One thing we are likely to see, the fog thickening up
01:09particularly in and around the Glasgow area but also the west of Northern
01:13Ireland. Potentially seeing some very dense patches of fog forming through
01:16this evening that could last well into tomorrow. Again the likelihood of a few
01:21showers just drifting up at times across the southeast, so staying a bit damp over
01:26night here and still quite breezy here too. Elsewhere across England and Wales
01:30those winds continue to ease down and with light winds and clear skies, a harsh
01:34frost across Scotland. Well in the shelter glens negative double digits is
01:39possible. It stays milder over the Northern Isles here, more cloud and some
01:43rain and drizzle on and off across Shetland. As we go through Wednesday, not
01:47a great deal of change. As I mentioned though, those fog patches particularly
01:51across the western Northern Ireland and through the central belt of Scotland,
01:54especially the western end, may last all day. And if the fog sticks we're not
01:59going to get above freezing. But again, out of the fog, much of Scotland and
02:02Northern Ireland dry, fine and sunny. Most of England and Wales dry and cloudy. Again
02:07a few showers in the far south of England just at times, drifting along the
02:11south coast, particularly towards Devon. A greater chance of some showers in
02:15South Devon for the afternoon and still quite breezy along the south coast. But
02:19elsewhere those winds are lighter than today. Still on the chilly side though,
02:22six, seven degrees for many, even with the sunshine across Scotland and Northern
02:27Ireland, only four or five. And as I mentioned, if the fog sticks we're not
02:30going to get above freezing I suspect. And quite rapidly that frost returns
02:35across Scotland during Wednesday night. We are going to see a bit more in the way
02:39of cloud just spilling in across eastern areas initially here. But Thursday looks
02:44like being an even duller, more dank day with rain and drizzle across parts of
02:48England and Wales. Even though the high pressure is still in place, it does get
02:52pushed away towards the east pretty rapidly as we go towards the weekend.
02:56And weather fronts start toppling in. They'll bring some wetter and windier
02:59weather across the northwest. But another area of high pressure will still keep
