00:00Kedah Menteri Besar Sanusi Noor has been acquitted of one charge of sedition by the Sya'alam

00:06High Court.

00:08Judge Azlam Zainuddin made the decision after the prosecution informed the court that the

00:12Attorney General's Chambers had accepted Sanusi's representation to dismiss the two

00:16charges against him, Sinar Harian reported.

00:20Sanusi was charged with making seditious statements against the Selangor Sultan and the Yangdi

00:24Pertuan Agung during a ceramah in Gomba on July 11th last year when he touched on the

00:29appointment of the Selangor Menteri Besar and the establishment of the Unity Government.

00:34The Janeri Assemblymen pleaded not guilty at the Selayang Sessions Court and the cases

00:38were consolidated and transferred to the Sya'alam High Court on February 1st for a joint hearing.

00:45Sanusi submitted a second representation to the AJC after his initial application was

00:49rejected in May.

00:52In September, he apologized to Sultan Sharafuddin for offensive and disrespectful remarks last

00:57year although he did not specify which remarks he was referring to.

01:01The Sultan said he accepted the Kedah Menteri Besar's apology in the spirit of Islamic Brotherhood

01:06and solidarity within the Malay community.
